What is a Series Drop in Marvel Snap

To explain what a Series Drop is we first need to go over how Marvel Snap divides cards into 5 Series or "pools". Players get cards by progressing in their Collection Levels and opening Collector Reserve. Depending on your Collection Level you obtain cards from different series.

Collection Level
Card Series
18 to 214
Series 1
222 to 474
Series 2
486 and over
Series 3, 4 and 5

On top of the basic Series 1, 2 and 3, Marvel Snap introduced Series 4 and Series 5 cards, with the promise of eventually doing Series Drop for some cards. These Series 4 and 5 cards are Rare and Ultra Rare, which means that the chance of appearing in a Reserve is minimum. That is why Series Drops are so important.

The lower Series a card is, the easy it is to get it via Collectors Resrve and the cheaper it is to buy them with Collector Tokens. Collector Tokens are a premium currency that allows players to obtain cards via the shop.

  • Series 4 cards: 3000 Collector Tokens
  • Pool 5 cards: 6000 Collector Tokens

Most relevant cards Dropping

Some Marvel Snap top-tier staples will be part of the next Series Drop. Darkhawk and Silver Surfer dominated the meta before the last balance patch and they are both going to Series 4. Knull, a key card in Galactus decks will also be dropping.

The Series 4 cards Dropping to pool 3 are not that popular in the game at the moment. However, making them more common will open space for experimentation.

It's still a mystery when the next patch will arrive but it should come before the next season which starts on March 6. The next Marvel Snap Series Drop could happen even before the season ends so if you can hold some Reserves it might be a good idea to prevent the unlikely but possible scenario of opening a card about to be downgraded.

Furthermore, if you run into a dropping card you really want in the shop, you can pin it and wait until they drop and buy them at a lower rate.
