Huohuo now has more buffs for herself and more healing for the rest of the party!
Huohuo is one of the four characters who are getting Novaflare buffs on Honkai Star Rail version 4.2! Hers gives her even more healing, further cementing her as one of the best healers in the game. Her first Eidolon is also getting stronger, meaning she’s among the top choices for the free 5-star character redemption. Here’s a rundown of Huohuo’s Novaflare buffs.
When is Huohuo getting her buffs?
The Huohuo Novaflare buffs go live with the Honkai Star Rail version 4.2 update, scheduled for April 22, 2026. This same patch offers a free 5-star character to celebrate the game’s 3rd anniversary. Among the selectable 5-star characters is Huohuo, which is perfect timing for you to take advantage of the buff on her E1.

Honkai Star Rail version 4.2 also adds two new 5-star characters: Silver Wolf Lv.999 and Evanescia. At the same time, The Trailblazer will unlock the Path of Elation.
Huohuo’s Novaflare buffs
Her Basic ATK, Technique, and Ultimate are unchanged.
These changes are mostly direct buffs to Huohuo’s kit and don’t greatly change the way that she functions. Thus, no changes to her Planar Ornaments and Relics are needed.
Skill – Talisman: Protection (Restore)
Both the scaling (off Huohuo’s Max HP) and the flat amount of healing that this ability offers increases.
At Trace Lv.10:
- Dispels 1 debuff(s) from a single target ally and immediately restores this ally’s HP by an amount equal to 24% of Huohuo’s Max HP plus 640. At the same time, restores HP for allies that are adjacent to this target ally by an amount equal to 19.2% of Huohuo’s Max HP plus 512.
Talent – Possession: Ethereal Metaflow (Restore)
The Divine Provision buff lasts longer and can be earned through the Ultimate. This makes Huohuo spend slightly fewer Skill Points throughout a battle, eliminating instances where she would use her Skill to keep the buff up.
At Trace Lv.10:
- After using her Skill or Ultimate, Huohuo gains “Divine Provision,” lasting for 3 turn(s). This duration decreases by 1 turn at the start of Huohuo’s every turn. When Huohuo has “Divine Provision” at the start of an ally target’s turn or when they use their Ultimate, restores HP for that ally and the ally with the lowest HP percentage by an amount equal to 4.5% of Huohuo’s Max HP plus 120. Then, restores HP for every ally with a current HP percentage at or below 50% by an amount equal to 4.5% of Huohuo’s Max HP plus 120.
- When “Divine Provision” is triggered to heal an ally target, dispels 1 debuff(s) from that target. This effect can be triggered 6 time(s). Gaining “Divine Provision” again resets the effect’s trigger count.
Huohuo Major Trace changes
- Fearful to Act: Huohuo now gains Energy at the start of battle. The Divine Provision buff granted on battle start now lasts for 2 turns (up from 1).
- The Cursed One: Her Ultimate now gives an ATK buff to allies whose Max Energy is 160 or higher.
Huohuo Eidolon buffs
Only her first Eidolon is getting buffed.
Anchored to Vessel, Specters Nestled – Duration of the Talent’s Divine Provision buff still gets extended (now to 4 turns). Divine Provision now buffs Huohuo’s Outgoing Healing by 20%, on top of the already existing ally SPD buff of 12%.
