Firefly’s getting stronger in Honkai Star Rail version 4.2! Her Novaflare buffs allow her to inflict more Fire weakness on enemies and deal even more Super Break DMG. Here’s a quick rundown of Firefly’s Novaflare buffs.
When do Firefly’s Novaflare buffs go live?
The Firefly buffs go live on Honkai Star Rail version 4.2, scheduled for April 22, 2026. This wave of Novaflare buffs also includes Huohuo, Seele, and Welt.
She will be available to pull in the Indelible Coterie banner on the first half of this patch.
The patch adds two new 5-star characters, Silver Wolf Lv.999 and Evanescia. Meanwhile, the Trailblazer unlocks the Path of Elation.
Firefly’s Novaflare buffs
Most of her kit is untouched by the Novaflare buffs. In fact, only her Skill and two of her Major Traces are receiving changes, but it remains impactful and is a decent attempt at keeping Firefly teams afloat.
These changes don’t warrant a big change to her best-in-slot Relic and Planar Ornament sets. Break, Super Break, and Fire Weakness-inclined builds will work even better now.
Enhanced Skill – Fyrefly Type-IV: Deathstar Overload (Blast)
This is the Skill that Firefly gets access to when in Complete Combustion mode.
- Now adds Fire Weakness to three targets (main target + two adjacent enemies)
While this change doesn’t seem like much, it synergizes well with her reworked Major Trace.
Module α: Antilag Outburst
This Trace is getting a complete rework.
- Old: During the Complete Combustion, attacking enemies that have no Fire Weakness can also reduce their Toughness, with the effect being equivalent to 55% of the original Toughness Reduction from abilities.
- New: While in the Complete Combustion state, SAM’s Break Effect increases by 25%. When using Enhanced Basic ATK or Enhanced Skill to inflict Weakness Break on a target, the Complete Combustion countdown is delayed by 10%. This effect can trigger a maximum of 3 time(s) during each Complete Combustion state.
Instead of giving Firefly an edge against enemies who aren’t weak against Fire, the Major Trace change works on her strengths. Her Complete Combustion now lasts a little longer in battle and works better with the changes to her skill.
Module β: Autoreactive Armor
The activation threshold has been lowered, and the DMG has been increased.
- When SAM is in Complete Combustion with a Break Effect that is equal to or greater than 150%/300% (from 200%/360%), attacking a Weakness-Broken enemy target will convert the Toughness Reduction of this attack into 1 instance of 100%/150% (from 35%/50%) Super Break DMG.
