Since 2011, countless players have fought for glory, and many of them are now immortalized in the game through their LoL Worlds skins.
Every year, the winners of the League of Legends (LoL) Worlds tournament get to choose which champion will receive their commemorative skin. Since the event began in 2011, Riot has released a long list of Worlds skins, each one marking a historic victory. Let’s take a look at every one of them.
FNATIC (2011)
This was the only time Europe lifted the Summoner’s Cup. Years later, the skins were re-released with cleaner trims and sharper visual effects, turning this victory into a piece of playable history for fans of Worlds skins. All the players are currently retired, except Shushei, who unfortunately lost his life this year. The Polish player was the MVP of the tournament.

Taipei Assassins (2012)
The same is true for the Taiwanese team, Taipei Assassins, who claimed their first and only championship title in 2012. That year, they defeated Azubu Frost 2–1, securing the victory and bringing the Summoner’s Cup to the region in only the second year of the tournament’s existence. All the players are currently retired.

SK Telecom T1 (2013)
It was in 2013 that SK Telecom T1 started to grab the public's attention with one of the best players in the world: Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok. In that year, the Korean team obliterated Royal Club by 3-0 in Los Angeles. Only Faker still plays for the team.
All of them have retired from professional play, with the exception of Impact, who is currently on an indefinite hiatus. Bengi, Piglet, and PoohManDu have stayed in the scene, continuing their careers as League of Legends coaches.

Samsung White (2014)
In 2014, Samsung White defeated Star Horn Royal Club by 3-1 in their home country. This year marked the return of the MVP award, following the 2012 and 2013 editions, which did not assign one. All the players are currently retired. DanDy and Mata turned coaches.

SK Telecom T1 (2015)
In 2015, SK Telecom T1 returned to the big stage to take the second trophy home. This time, they defeated KOO Tigers, a fellow Korean team, by 3-1 in Berlin, Germany. Jang "MaRin" Gyeong-hwan was the MVP of the tournament. This was the first LoL Worlds six-skin set to be released in the game.

SK Telecom T1 (2016)
For the first time in the LoL Worlds history, a team won the tournament back-to-back. SK Telecom T1 defeated Samsung Galaxy in a thrilling Korean showdown. This set of skins was particularly unique, as it was the only Worlds set to include a ward skin for the coach, a feature that hasn’t been repeated since. Like the previous year, the set also consisted of six champion skins. Faker was the MVP of the tournament. Duke and kkOma started a coaching career.

Samsung Galaxy (2017)
In an iconic edition of Worlds, remembered for its unforgettable opening ceremony and the appearance of an Elder Dragon, Samsung Galaxy returned to the podium three years later. When SK Telecom T1 was looking for a third title in a row, Samsung crushed their dreams and won the championship by 3-0. Ruler was the MVP of the tournament. While CoreJJ and Ruler kept playing, Crown went into a coaching career, while the remaining players ended up retiring.

For many, one of the best skin sets ever made. For the first time, a Chinese team defeated a Korean one in a LoL Worlds Grand Finals. Invictus Gaming brought glory to the country, defeating FNATIC by 3-0. Gao "Ning" Zhen-Ning was the MVP. All the players are still active, except for Ning and Duke.

FunPlus Phoenix (2019)
One never comes without the other. The Chinese powerhouses were determined to show they could compete against the Korean teams, and FunPlus Phoenix did it again after defeating G2 Esports by 3-0. In two consecutive years, Europe was so close to winning another title, but failed both. Gao "Tian" Tian-Liang was the tournament MVP. GimGoon is the only retired player from the 2019 roster.

DAMWON Gaming (2020)
In 2020, the Koreans dethroned the Chinese once more, defeating Suning by 3-1. DAMWON Gaming's victory was celebrated without the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu was the MVP. All players are still active, except Nuguri, who retired shortly after the victory.

Before heading into a wave of Korean winners, EDward Gaming brought the title to China once more. In a close battle against the 2020s winners, EDG did not have an easy life. They ended up winning by 3-2. Lee "Scout" Ye-chan was the MVP. All the players are still active.

DRX (2022)
One of the biggest upsets in LoL Worlds history occurred in 2022. After everyone expected T1 (formerly SK Telecom T1) to claim the title, DRX staged an incredible comeback, defeating the favorites 3–2 in a thrilling final. This victory introduced a first for Worlds skins: the Prestige line, created to honor the tournament’s MVP. Hwang "Kingen" Seong-hoon was the MVP. All the players are still active.

The 2023 Worlds marked T1’s long-awaited return to the championship. The team had not claimed the title since 2016, but in a dominant Grand Final, T1 swept Weibo Gaming 3–0. This victory marked the beginning of an unprecedented run for the Korean powerhouse. Choi "Zeus" Woo-je was the tournament MVP. All the players are still active.

By 2024, T1 had already built a loyal fanbase, forged through years of international glory. Fans were eager to see the team compete on the world stage once again. After their decisive victory the previous year, T1 reached the Grand Finals, but Bilibili Gaming wasn’t going to hand them the win. Even so, the Korean powerhouse proved why they’re celebrated for their talent and excellence.
Faker was named MVP, but following a recent update, Prestige skins are no longer just “enhanced” versions of standard skins. Instead, they have become an exclusive new tier, offering a unique level of prestige for players. Aside from the Yone skin, he also got a Prestige Sylas skin.
