Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 added several new weapons ranging from Assault rifles, pistols to the Sniper. Here’s all you need to know about which weapon to use in the latest season.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 flipped the map and we have several new characters, POIs and weapons. Here are all the new weapons included in the latest Fortnite season.

Trust Epic to make a spectacle of a new season. They did it in 2019 and once again now in 2021. As Fortnite players got back to the server to play their favorite game, they found themselves with new weapons. If you don’t know which weapon is the better one, this article will give you detailed information on each one.

New Fortnite weapons

The new weapons in Fortnite bring a mix of shotguns, medium to long range weapons as well as a handy pistol. Fans are already calling for nerfs to the MK-7 Assault rifle and the Striker Pump Shotgun. But as with any new update, maybe players will find ways to lessen the impact of these weapons.

Here are the new items in Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 1

Ranger Assault rifle

The ranger assault rifle is great at the medium-long range. In fact, this rifle would be a perfect fit for players who want to play at a distance.

The MK-7 Assault rifle is similar to an upgraded Ranger assault rifle. It has a high rate of fire and is equally (or more) effective at the medium to long range. What’s even better is that this rifle has a red dot that you can use to aim precisely.

Why is the MK-7 Assault rifle better? Well, it’s made from The Seven’s technology.

Fortnite players also have an opportunity to earn a special version of this rifle if they confront The Foundation. This version has a slightly higher fire rate, which could mean the difference between victory or defeat.

Enough about medium to long range weapons. Battles in Fortnite often come down to close-range combats near builds. And the Strike Pump Shotfun is perfect for such combat. It has a lot of pellets, so you don't need to spend time to reload as often. And this shotgun has a very high damage so if your aim is decent, you can get some really easy kills.

Auto Shotgun

But one disadvantage of the Striker Pump shotgun is its slow reload time. If you empty your shell and are still facing an opponent, it's more likely you will be at a huge disadvantage. The Auto Shotgun provides a slightly different variant. It does not deal as much damage as the Striker Pump shotgun but it has a faster fire rate and reloads two shells at a time.

Sidearm Pistol

Shotguns are great for close combat, but sometimes you just need to whip out the pistol. The Sidearm pistol is actually a great sidearm weapon to have. It deals decent damage at mid-range, but it can particularly lethal at close range. As long as you are able to aim at the heads, you are good to go.

Stinger SMG

The Stinger SMG deals damage to opponents and structures. You don’t want to climb the structure that the opponent is hiding in, you can destroy the structure.

Or you could play the Sad Trombone and then destroy him just like our Director of Content, Malystryx, did in 2019.

Three shots per clip. Let’s hope your aim is good to get the kill in three shots. Or… you can try again.

How much damage do these weapons do?

Fortnite dataminer, iFiremonkey, has published details on the damage output of each of the new weapons in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1.

The new season of Fortnite brings several new gameplay features. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made an appearance in Fortnite in the well-orchestrated The End event.
