Which teams are participating in the GAMERS GALAXY: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022?

There are ten teams that will take part in the tournament. The list includes some of the most popular teams from Europe and Southeast Asia. With such high standards of competition, the tournament promises to bring forth top tier Dota 2 action for fans.

The event is a LAN event in the Dubai Studio city behind closed doors. However, it will not feature a live audience. Esports.gg is awaiting a reply on the COVID safety protocols for the event.

Tournament format

The ten teams form two groups of five teams each. They compete in a Bo1 round-robin format. The top two teams from each group advance to the upper bracket playoffs’ semifinals.

The next two teams will face each other in a best-of-three play-in stage after which the winners advance to the lower bracket playoffs. This concludes the six teams that make it to the final playoffs stage.

Every match in the playoffs will feature a best-of-three series, except the Grand Finals. As is the norm in Dota 2 events, the Grand Finals will be a best-of-five affair.

First tournament on Patch 7.31

The event takes place over five days behind closed doors in Dubai. It is the biggest Dota 2 event in the region.

Valve will release the 7.31 Dota 2 update on February 23. The new update promises to bring significant changes to the game and releases right after the DPC Regional Finals

With the tournament kicking off in early March, it is the first Dota 2 LAN event on the new patch. Earlier in the year, Valve canceled the first Dota 2 Major, much to the surprise of players, fans and community members. After massive outrage, Valve announced the DPC Regional Finals with a $100,000 prize pool for each of the six regions.

With some of the biggest names in contention, Dota 2 fans can watch all the action live on YouTube or Twitch.
