DreamLeague Season 22 invited four teams with the highest EPT Points. The direct invites are sent to Gaimin Gladiators and Team Liquid, who both dominated the competition in 2023. BetBoom Team had performed well in DreamLeague S21 and ESL One Kuala Lumpur, earning them enough points for a direct invite. Xtreme Gaming also received an invite following the mass migration of players from Azure Ray, whom had won the ESL One Kuala Lumpur.

DreamLeague Season 22 date

DreamLeague Season 22 will take place from February 25 to March 10, 2024. The Main Event begins with the Group Stage from February 25 - 28. DreamLeague Season 22 will also have a Group Stage Phase 2 from March 1 - 7. The compact Playoffs will then conclude the tournament from March 9 - 10.

  • Group Stage 1: February 25 - 28
  • Group Stage 2: March 1 - 7
  • Playoffs: March 9 - 10

Format and prize pool

The tournament sees an unusual format though it has been used before in multiple ESL events. There will be three phases of the tournament: Group Stage 1, Group Stage 2, and Playoffs.

The Group Stage 1 divides sixteen teams to two groups of eight teams each. A typical BO2 round-robin clash will take place. The top four teams in each group advance to Group Stage 2 while the rest will be eliminated.

Group Stage 2 will see all eight teams compete in one group. In another round-robin setting, this time BO3, teams will clash for a slot in the Playoffs. The top two teams advance to the Upper Bracket, the 3rd-4th placed teams go to the Lower Bracket, and the bottom two will be eliminated. The Playoffs will be a quick battle as only four teams remain to compete.
