Respawn Entertainment finally revealed the major details on Season 12 of Apex Legends along with a new Stories from the Outland Trailer. The next season of the popular shooter goes live on 8th February. There's plenty of buzz around the new Stories from the Outland trailer as a familiar face is going to show up at the Apex Games. Fuse's childhood friend-turned-enemy, Mad Maggie is going to be the next Apex Legend. There are more details on Season 12 on the Apex Legends website. There's plenty of stuff coming up that players should be excited about!

Mad Maggie is the next Legend

Players who have been around since or before Season 8 will be familiar with the upcoming legend. Maggie had a huge role to play when Fuse's lore and origin story was revealed. Both of them grew up on the planet Salvo together and were best friends. They both aimed to become warlords that ruled the planet until Fuse grew a penchant for showmanship and competitive thrill. He decided to join the Apex Games to compete in the most popular arena in the game's universe. This didn't sit well with Maggie, who wanted him to rule Salvo alongside her as a warlord.

After Fuse joined the Apex Games, Maggie and her army of mercenaries attacked the Apex Arenas and caused a lot of mayhem. She hijacked the arenas and messed around with the ring to make it more dangerous for the competitors and took on the commentary role as well.

Eventually, Fuse, Lifeline, and Bloodhound put an end to the mayhem she caused. Maggie seemingly died after she fell off a cliff after deliberately letting go of Fuse's hand. Of course, they didn't show her fall to her death so obviously, she didn't die. You can read more about what happened in our breakdown of the new "Judgement" stories from the outland trailer.

A new LTM

A new Limited Time Mode called "Control" will be launching alongside Season 12 and will go on for three weeks. The new game mode is a 9v9 team-based battle where players can select their loadout beforehand and compete with infinite respawns. The objective will be to capture and defend control points until one of the teams hits the target score. The new game mode looks like it'll offer a welcome change of pace from Battle Royale and Arenas and seems to be similar to area control game modes in other popular multiplayer games and shooters like Halo Infinite and World of Tanks.

Olympus Overhaul

Players who enjoyed playing on Olympus will be happy to know that their favorite map is returning to the map rotation in Season 12. The community has had to play on Fragment World's Edge and Storm Point for an entire season and will be excited to see the pretty city in the sky make a comeback with some unrevealed changes.

Respawn hasn't revealed exactly what kind of changes are going to happen on the map but given their history with map changes, they're probably going to blow something up.

Daily login rewards

Season 12 also marks the 3rd Anniversary of Apex Legends and Respawn Entertainment seems to be in a generous mood. Players will be able to claim a reward every day for the first three weeks of Season 12. The rewards seem pretty exciting. New Players that don't have all legends unlocked will be excited to know that a pool of locked legends is among the daily login rewards, along with Apex Packs and cosmetics.

Looks like Respawn Entertainment has finally dropped some major details on the next season and it looks like it's going to be an exciting one. It has to be, considering the fact that it brings the game into its third anniversary and comes off the back of a relatively slow season. Stay tuned for more details. We can't wait for February 8th!
