The LoL 2026 Season 2 arrives on the Rift on April 29 with brand-new skins, Battle Pass updates, and fresh details on the new champion.
The League of Legends (LoL) 2026 Season 2 is coming with a new theme, taking the players to the outskirts of Demacia. A shorter season than usual, we will have brand new skins, Battle Pass changes, and more information on the upcoming champion.
Battle Pass changes
Compared to previous seasons, Season 2 will be shorter, lasting six patches instead of the usual eight. The goal is to “make room for a longer season later this year,” as Riot Games explained. The Battle Pass will be updated, so the amount of time it takes relative to the length of the season feels roughly the same.
Your prayers were heard, and Riot Games will make the non-Prestige season Pass skins direct purchase. The slots will be replaced with Fiendish Mystery Skin loot orbs that will drop a demon-themed Epic skin instead. Instead of purchasing a battle pass filled with skins for champions you don’t play, you’ll have the opportunity to obtain a brand-new skin, and disenchant it if it’s not to your liking.

New skins coming in Season 2
In the LoL 2026 Season 2, we will receive new Variant skins. These skins were introduced as a way to bring more champions to previously released skin lines. This season, they will be:
- Rain Shepherd Ivern
- PROJECT: Quinn
- Breadsticks Irelia
- Spaghetti alla Vel’Koz
As for Prestige skins, Shaco and LeBlanc will be the next champions to receive them. In Season 3, Veigar will also be getting a Prestige skin, marking the first time he has ever received one. Riot didn’t share the splash art for all these skins yet, but we will keep you updated.

Who is the new champion coming in the LoL 2026 Season 2?
We don’t know much about the next champion, but Riot has confirmed he is going to play in the mid lane and will be an AP assassin. According to recent leaks, Locke will be his name, as he has already appeared in one of the motion comics. Like Vayne, he will most likely be a demon hunter.
A month ago, RiotMeddler confirmed the new champion would be out in the middle of the year. “Most of the team that normally make new champs are helping out with the large update that we’ll talk about post MSI or so,” he wrote. “2027 will depend a lot on how progress on said large update goes and how players respond to the different parts of it.”

The second season kicks off on April 29 with many new updates, including WASD in ranked, arena updates, item updates, and more. Stay tuned to not miss a thing!
