Augment Level-Ups and the ability to replace Augments are hitting live servers soon! Here's what you need to know.

League of Legends 2026 Season 2 is bringing big changes and lots of new content to Arena! Here’s everything you need to know about the new Augment Level-Up System and some of the new Augments.

On top of these changes, there will also be Arena Events, which you can read up on here.

Augment Levels and Replacing Augments

(Some) Augments now have levels! Once you get two Augments that can be leveled up, future Augment selection screens will offer you the choice to level one of your existing Augments instead of getting a new one.

Since this would mean you’ll lose out on a complete other Augment, there will be more Augment offers throughout an Arena session. However, most of the time, you can still only have a maximum of four Augments. Don’t worry – you will now have the opportunity to replace Augments.

When you’ve reached the cap of four Augments, the select screens will allow you to level your Augments or replace one of your existing ones. A “Crafting Round” on Round 8 will be added. Here, you can earn an additional Augment slot or sacrifice one to level another.

This makes a lot of things easier: pivoting builds, adapting to enemies, and getting rid of that one useless Augment you mis-clicked.

New Augments

According to Riot, there are over 30 new Augments. This is a mix of completely new ones and some coming from ARAM: Mayhem. “Overall our goal was to really lean into the new features coming this season like Augment Levels, but also add some fun, flashy ones to keep things fun and lively in the Arena,” wrote the devs.

Below is a sample of some of the new Augments to be added in Season 2 Act I.

Transmute: Silver: When selected, fill your remaining augment slots with Silver augments. Taking this in the first round is great for taking advantage of the new augment leveling system by getting a head start with a bunch of augments and then leveling them while others are still hunting for their builds.

Wild Fire: Autocast fling a fireball at a nearby target that will bounce between enemy champions. As this is leveled, the number of bounces will increase, and at max level, it can bounce endlessly. Functioning as both a burn and auto cast, Wild Fire bridges the gap between the two, opening the door for builds and augments that amplify either or both.

Scavenger: For those looking to show off their trophies, Scavenger is for you. Each time you defeat an opponent, you’ll gain one of their augments, but this comes at the cost of augment offerings only offering augment level-ups.

Magical Girl: Each combat has a falling star. Catching this star knocks back enemies as they dance during your magical transformation, afterwards you’re empowered, and stars rain down on your opponents. While this season has plenty of demons thematically, we don’t want to miss out on the fun that can come with just letting your hair down and going all out.

These new additions go live on the first patch of League of Legends 2026 Season 2, on patch 26.09.

New maps

Petricite Grove is the new map with damaging bombs scattered across the arena. When hit, they will travel before exploding, but if you hit it with an immobilizing effect, it will immediately explode.

The Ancestral Woods is also getting shaken up a bit. Take a look below:

These changes are part of the big League of Legends 2026 Season 2 changes, which go live on Patch 26.09 on April 28, 2026.
