Pokemon UNITE players can now gear up their engines to compete in the qualifying tournament of the one million dollar championship series.
Rejoice Pokemon UNITE players – the 2022 World Championship is already in view! Following 7 months after its release, Pokemon will host its first World Championship in August 2022. There would be monthly qualifying tournaments for each region leading up to the championship in London, England which holds more than a million USD prize pool in total. The first of these qualifiers begin on February 19, so mark your calendar and prepare for the ride!
Pokemon UNITE Championship Series is on the horizon
Flaunting more than 50 million downloads across all platforms (Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android), Pokemon UNITE is ready to make its way into esports. From February to June, Pokemon will host the Championship Series which leads to the ultimate event, the Pokemon UNITE World Championship.
The series fields monthly cups for various regions which will award Championship Points (CP) to players in the top teams. In April, Pokemon will host the Aeos Cup which awards more points than the normal, monthly cups. Teams with high standings in these tournaments will receive CP. Granted that a team has enough Championship Points, then they will be invited to the World Championship.
To set the Championship Series in motion, the February Cup begins its Open Qualifiers on February 19 – 20.
Which regions are supported?
In addition, a total of seven regions are included in the first season of the Championship Series. These regions including their slot allocations are:

- South America – 1
- Europe – 2
- Oceania – 1
- Japan – 2
- South Korea – 2
- Asia-Pacific – 2
