Fortnite and Star Wars are back at it again for the annual Star Wars Day celebration.  For the 2024 edition, Fortnite presents a new Star Wars event under patch v29.40, due to launch on May 3. This update comes packed with more Star Wars than ever before, including Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival.

Chewbacca drops into Battle Royale with his signature Bowcaster

Chewie has arrived in Fortnite for the first time. The v29.40 has welcomed Han Solo’s loyal Wookiee friend to the Island as a non-playable character (NPC). However, he’s not unarmed. Chewbacca has entered Fortnite with his signature Bowcaster weapon, which you can find on the Island.

Chewbacca rotates through various Imperial Roadblocks each match, so you will have to keep an eye out for him. If you rescue him, he’ll roar in appreciation, hand you a Bowcaster, and join you for the remainder of your match. 



You can also find Bowcasters in various Imperial Chests around the map. 






Darth Vader and his Lightsaber return to Fortnite’s Island

Darth Vader is back as a boss in Fortnite with an army of Stormtroopers. Like in previous Star Wars events, you can battle the Imperial forces. You can wield his Lightsaber or a Stormtrooper E-11 Blaster if you eliminate Vader and his crew.

It wouldn’t be a proper Fortnite Star Wars event without Quests, and there are plenty. The first phase of Star Wars Quests will be available on May 3 at 9 a.m. ET followed by the second phase on May 7 at 9 a.m. ET. If you complete five before May 14, you will receive the AWR Pack Back Bling.

Fortnite's annual Star Wars event has begun, and there is plenty of content to keep players busy. From LEGO Fortnite to Battle Royale, this update has something for everyone, including free in-game items. A recent report from various Fortnite leakers has confirmed that Star Wars Twitch Drops will be available during this event.

How to get FREE Fortnite x Star Wars Twitch Drops

Leaker Wenso shared on Twitter that new Fortnite x Jujutsu Kaisen skins are reportedly on the way. According to them, an official announcement should be coming later this month.



This heavily speculated collaboration would mark the second time Jujutsu Kaisen has been featured in Fortnite. The skins will supposedly arrive alongside another JJK Cup.



What to expect from Jujutsu Kaisen x Fortnite



An educated guess as to what this collaboration might entail can be made by looking back at previous examples. Fortnite has had four successful collaborations with other anime series: Naruto, Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, and Attack on Titan.

However, even more relevant to the upcoming Fortnite x Jujutsu Kaisen skins is the previous collaboration with JJK. It featured the Break the Curse! quests and cosmetic rewards, Cursed Techniques, the Jujutsu Kaisen Cup, and four brand-new character skins.

The Break the Curse! quests can be thought of as a mini Battle Pass with both premium and free reward tracks. Completing objectives awarded players with JJK-themed cosmetics such as sprays, emoticons, and more.



Cursed Techniques added two of the anime characters' signature moves as in-game abilities. Players could use these techniques to take out their fellow competitors in the Jujutsu Kaisen Cup.



Lastly, the original collaboration introduced Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, Satoru Gojo, and Yuji Itadori as playable character skins.



The return of Jujutsu Kaisen x Fortnite



We can reasonably expect this edition of Fortnite's Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration to follow in its predecessor's footsteps. An event with cosmetic rewards, in-game abilities, and a Jujutsu Kaisen Cup is extremely likely.

So how does one complete this quest and jam at Restored Reels in Fortnite? Don't worry. We have got you covered.

So what does it mean to jam at Restored Reels? Just think about it for a second. Jam? Restored Reels? The place where there is a giant stage? It means you have got to jam out at Restored Reels.



So how do you do this to complete the challenge?



Well, first, you need to locate Restored Reels on your map. Lucky for you, Restored Reels is pretty easy to point out. Look directly in the middle of the map, and you will see it.



Refer to the image below.







Now you have to jam out on the stage at Restored Reels. Locate the giant stage sitting at the bottom of the amphitheater, and go up to the table that has a DJ board and speakers. This is the dance floor where you are supposed to jam out.







Can you just do any emote when jamming out? Or does it have to be a specific one?

How to jam in Fortnite



To jam out in Fortnite, you need to scroll through your emote wheel until you get to the jam section. These emotes were added to the game with the arrival of Fortnite Festival back in December.

Now off to find Slumberyard's dance floor, which is much easier. Head east of Classy Courts, where you will find the Slumberyard dance floor. Jam out, and complete your challenges.

New Legend: Alter



Alter is joining the Apex games! She will be in the Skirmisher class and have the following abilities. 



Passive: Gift From The Rift - Can remotely interact with a deathbox to claim one item. Cannot be armor.



Tactical: Void Passage - Creates a portal passageway through a surface.



Ultimate: Void Nexus - Create a regroup point that all allies can remotely interact with to open a phase tunnel back to that location.







Alter will have the following Legend Upgrades:

Map Changes - Broken Moon



Broken Moon is getting changes in Season 21. Following the teaser, where the Moon's Satellite collided with Olympus, the debris has significantly damaged the map.



There are now 20 POI's on the map, and one of them is NOT promenade. The infamous central POI has been removed and replaced by 'Quarantine Zone'.

Fortnite's annual Star Wars event arrives promptly on May 3, just in time to say May the 4th Be With You. The 2024 collaboration is unquestionably the most significant to date, extending to Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing. On top of that, Epic Games will introduce more Fortnite Star Wars skins for you to spend your hard-earned V-Bucks on.

Chewbacca, Dagobah Luke, and Lando Calrissian headline the latest Fortnite Star Wars skins. Previously, Epic Games has unleashed A New Hope Luke, Jedi Knight Luke, and Cloaked Luke, so Dagobah Luke makes the fourth rendition of the character. To provide context, Dagobah Luke is depicted in The Empire Strikes Back when Luke trains with Yoda.









Lando Calrissian has yet to appear in Fortnite, so this marks his debut, sporting his iconic look from Empire. The AWR Trooper, or Death Trooper, will also be available. Last but certainly not least, Han Solo's loyal Wookiee friend, Chewbacca, will appear in-game as a non-player character (NPC) and Fortnite skin.

Leaks have surfaced of a new MHA collaboration that, this time, stars the villains of the anime. 



My Hero Academia to return to Fortnite



My Hero Academia has been a staple within the Fortnite community as it was one of the earlier animes that the game collaborated with. The only thing is, every MHA skin we have is a hero.



So, why no villains?



Well, it seems like the newest partnership with the popular anime will bring fans exactly what they want.

Skiter: It feels really good because it was a lower bracket run. Usually, in the tournaments I've won or my teams have won — we've just swept through the upper bracket. It wasn't really that difficult. But for this tournament, we were originally supposed to play with SumaiL because Malr1ne had difficulty getting his visa.

And then after the first day of this event, we were told that he finally got his visa so he was coming, so we switched our midlaner after the tournament had already started. We had zero practice with him. We lost the first round of the upper bracket, so we had to struggle our way through the lower bracket. There are too many games and variables so you don't really expect to win, but we managed to go through all the way and win it.



You mentioned in a podcast before that it might make it hard for you to sleep. So how did you feel when you went into the lower bracket?

Overwatch 2 buffs tanks in mid-season update



According to the May 2 Overwatch director's take, the mid-season update is going to buff the tank passive to have a 25% damage reduction from headshots. The game also plans to increase knockback resistance from 30% to 50%. Next, armor damage reduction is getting reverted to 5 damage per projective with up to a 50% maximum. Meanwhile, the global self-heal passive is going to recover 10 health and 5% of a hero's maximum health per second. 



These changes aim to help tanks deal with burst damage. These updates also let tanks hold the front line better while not being constantly subjected to displacement abilities.



"Altogether, these changes should have an impact on some of the pain points our tank players are experiencing, as well as the balance of the game," Keller added. "I have a feeling we’ll see a lot of movement in the meta over the remainder of Season 10."

Chewbacca makes his long-awaited Fortnite debut on May 3 with the newest Fortnite x Star Wars event. This collaboration features ample content, from Battle Royale to LEGO Fortnite and everything in between. On the Battle Royale side, Epic Games has made Chewbacca a non-player character (NPC), who you can find and rescue. This article explains where to find the loveable Wookiee in Fortnite.



Where is Chewbacca in Fortnite?

You will find the Chewbacca NPC at the newly introduced Imperial Roadblocks stationed around the map. While there are several, Chewbacca will spawn randomly at just one in each Battle Royale match. Be on the lookout for the blue smoke from this sky. This smoke indicates where you can find Chewbacca. He is a prisoner of the Imperial forces, meaning you must rescue him. 







Upon locating the proper Imperial Roadblock containing the Wookiee, you must eliminate the Stormtroopers holding him captive. Those who successfully rescue Chewbacca will receive two benefits for their efforts.






What happens when I rescue Chewie?

Chewbacca will hand you his signature Bowcaster weapon, prominently featured in the Star Wars films, to show his gratitude. He will also join your squad for the remainder of the match until you win or another player sends you back to the lobby. Although Chewbacca is an NPC, having additional firepower in a sweaty Fortnite match never hurts.
