Team SMG announces the addition of ninjaboogie as their new position 5, replacing roger.

In the off-season of the Winter Tour 2021-2022 DPC, Team SMG announced a roster change, replacing their position 5 player, Roger "Roddgeee" Tan Boon Thye for Michael "ninjaboogie" Ross Jr. This roster change took place after the Regional Finals where Team SMG finished at 3rd place behind BOOM Esports and T1.

Ninjaboogie joins Team SMG for the second time

Team SMG certainly surprised some fans after settling 3rd at the Regional Finals, defeating Fnatic, which showed great performance prior to the event. They brought back home $15,000 USD but no DPC points. Despite an evident improvement from the team, they are aiming higher. The team opted for a change in the lineup, bidding farewell to their position 5 player, Roddgeee.

A day after, Team SMG welcomes ninjaboogie to their roster. This is in fact, not the first time he plays under the organization. The team began with a different lineup in 2021 and Ninjaboogie was their position 5 for a short period of time. They parted ways in April 2021 and ninjaboogie did not join any other team after.

With the addition of ninjaboogie to their roster once more, it seems like Team SMG wants to bring more experience on board. Ninjaboogie is a well-known veteran whose achievements include winning the PGL Open Bucharest 2017 and Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018 under Mineski’s banner.

The Dota veteran will be bringing us his experience and knowledge into the Hard Support Role for this DPC season!

Team SMG’s current roster is,

  • Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng - Pos 1
  • Kam "Moon" Boon Seng - Pos 2
  • Ryan "Raging Potato" Jay Qui  - Pos 3
  • Tue "ah fu" Soon Chuan - Pos 4
  • Michael "ninjaboogie" Ross Jr - Pos 5
