Story: The Dark Awakens

This is the main story of Tekken 8, which can be played on any difficulty. This story mode is split into multiple chapters and features unlockable rewards and achievements.

Online

Forget single player, online play is what Tekken is all about. This game mode lets players challenge the whole world, from ranked matches to more casual quick matches. You can also take on your friends in online private matches.

Super Ghost Battle

Super Ghost Battle allows you to practice against Ghosts. These Ghosts use your own fighting style against you, so you can improve and not fall into bad habits. Here is a full breakdown of Super Ghost Battle!

Arcade Battle

Tekken 8’s Arcade Battle brings you back to the arcade cabinet gameplay of yore. Just like in a classic fighting game, you’ll choose your fighter and fight through numerous opponents until you reach the final boss.

VS

1v1 me, bro? Well, that’s what the VS game mode in Tekken 8 is all about. VS quickly sets you up into a local 1v1, where you can either pummel your friends or train against CPU.

Arcade Quest

Arcade Quest is a single player mode where you create your own avatar (who look a lot like the old Xbox 360 profile characters) and fight through local tournaments. This game mode is a great way to start off and get familiar with fighting in Tekken 8.

Practice

Practice mode is exactly what it sounds like; a place to practice. This mode is the perfect learning environment, as you can choose all of the settings, from CPU difficulty to characters you’re playing against.

Tekken Ball

Tekken Ball is back, baby! This quirky game mode puts you against your opponent, but instead of using fists, you’re using a beach ball. To win this mode, either hit the ball in your opponent’s court or simply hit them with it.

Character Customization

Less of a game mode and more of a runway. Character customization lets you buy new outfits for all of the different fighters with your Fight Money.
