Version1 launches female VALORANT squad, will compete in VCT Game Changers

Version1 will now enter female VALORANT after signing Just Breathe, a team led by former Dignitas female member Milk.

Version1 are expanding their VALORANT division by signing orgless team Just Breathe as the organization’s all-female VALORANT team.

The entire Version1 all-female VALORANT lineup consists of the following players:

  • Kiara “Milk Makua
  • Natalia “Natty” Jackson
  • Rachel Lynn “Rush” Hang
  • Katherine “Karra” Lee
  • Naomi “Naomi” Sauvola

Version1’s newest VALORANT team consists of a good mix of both veteran and rookie talent. Players like Milk and Natty have previous experience at a professional level in CS:GO while Karra and Naomi provide rookie firepower to the group.

Just Breathe join Version1

The Just Breathe roster originally formed back in May 2021 following IGL Kiara “Milk” Makua’s departure from Dignitas. Under her leadership, the team began to find success in the women’s VALORANT scene after qualifying for VCT Game Changers in June after beating CLG Red 2-0.

However, once they got to VCT Game Changers, they were unable to take down Dignitas Female and ultimately finished 7th-8th at the event. Since that event, the team has not been to many tournaments, though that is likely to change now with Version1.

More organizations enter Women’s scene

Since VALORANT’s creation, top esports organizations have been trickling into Riot Games’ first person shooter and more are entering the women’s scene.

Heather “sapphiRe” Garozzo, Dignitas’ VP of Talent and a prominent FPS observer, created a list detailing which major organizations are now hosting womens teams.

Including Version1’s recent inclusion, the list of North American organization’s in women’s VALORANT is now up to 8 as the scene continues to develop.

In the meantime, Version1’s new female VALORANT lineup will likely aim to make a return to VCT Game Changers. Only this time, they will look to improve upon their initial 7th-8th place finish in the previous Game Changers.

VCT Game Changers 3 will take place from September 30th to October 3rd and will follow a similar format to the previous Game Changers event.  The eight participating teams will be determined through an Open Qualifier taking place from September 24 to 26. In this qualifier, there will be two tiers of qualification, 1st-4th and 5th-8th.

With a new organization the former Just Breathe players will now look to represent Version1 in the best fashion moving forward.
