The new Overwatch 2 comic featuring Ramattra kicks off with a scene in King's Row just months into Null Sector's invasion. Ramattra, Zenyatta, Widowmaker, and Sombra stand under Mondatta's statue. However, Widowmaker and Sombra are sent away so Ramattra can talk to Zenyatta in private.

New Overwatch 2 Reconciliation comic explained

Under their deceased master's statue, Ramattra talks about Mondatta's naïve belief in coexistence with humans. He recalls exploring the world like Aurora and his failed search for answers on how to save a world that does not want to be saved at all.

We are then treated to a scene of Symmetra and Lifeweaver working together with the omics. That doesn't sway Ramattra, however, as he remembers the suffering of his people. Although Zenyatta points out that Null Sector also spreads suffering and hatred, Ramattra insists the pain he inflicts is small compared to human cruelty.

Will Zenyatta join Ramattra's Null Sector?

Ramattra then reveals he has found a way to preserve and free their people, claiming he could have saved even more if not for Overwatch. Zenyatta counters that Overwatch has many likes of human and omnic alike. After insisting he is not a monster, Ramattra reveals that he wants Zenyatta to take the next step with him now that he already has part of his plan in motion. But Zenyatta refuses, saying that even if he does agree now, it doesn't change the fact that Null Sector's Talon allies murdered their master.

In a final attempt at convincing Zenyatta, Ramattra says that he's afraid that Talon's greed and betrayal may soon threaten the world. We are then showed a silhouetted figure of a character with a giant sword, possibly hinting at Hero 45.

Zenyatta says that the solution would be seeking peace. Meanwhile, Ramattra is adamant that peace with humanity is impossible. Zenyatta, however, says he can neither abandon their people nor humanity. After all, there is still good in this world that's worth fighting for.

Ramattra disagrees and hopes that Zenyatta would understand one day. The two then depart, both carrying their dream of peace wherever they go.
