"Since our creation, humans have oppressed us. You have lived in fear. That ends now," Ramattra says. "This is not war. This is liberation."

According to Overwatch 2 art director Dion Rogers, Ramattra is the leader of Null Sector. He also has a deep relationship with Zenyatta. Ramattra was once a monk of the Shambali like Zenyatta, but they had a difference in perspectives in terms of how to make the world a better place for their people.

“He doesn’t want to see his people go. He wants to see a better life for them,” Rogers said during Ramattra's reveal livestream back in 2022.

Overwatch 2 Invasion PvE gets new hero interactions

After pods drop down from the sky, Lucio notes that he's being overrun by Null Sector's forces. However, Brigitte and Tracer arrive to help him out. Next, Winston, Reinhardt, and Sojourn show up for some PvE action.

“Basically, these are cooperative missions that finally move the story in Overwatch forward,” Rogers said during a livestream. He then summarized why Winston recalled the heroes back together, adding that heroes who have never met each other before will unite to stop Null Sector.

“Lucio hasn’t met Reinhardt yet,” Rogers continued. “So you’re going to learn exactly how these characters meet each other, what they’ve been up to before this invasion happened.”

Illari enters Overwatch 2 as new support hero

Then, Illari enters the trailer as the newest addition to the Overwatch 2 roster. She talks about how she carries her burdens alone. Illari shouts "Face the sunrise!" before attacking her opponents. She also dukes it out in the new Flashpoint PvP game mode.
