There will be some familiar faces representing Overwatch 2 at the EWC.
There continues to be loads of hype surrounding the 2024 Esports World Cup (EWC), as more and more teams begin to solidify their place in the event across multiple different titles. For Overwatch 2 fans, 16 teams have just punched their ticket to the EWC Group Stage, and there are some faces and names you are sure to recognize among the bunch.
Overwatch 2 Esports World Cup Group Stage teams
It was confirmed today by the EWC that 16 Overwatch 2 teams have officially qualified for the Group Stage after completing their qualifier matches. The 16 qualified teams are the following:
Group A:
- Crazy Raccoon
- Toronto Ultra (previously Toronto Defiant)
- Gaimin Gladiators
- Loaded

Fans who tuned in to the 2024 Overwatch Champion Series (OWCS) Dallas Major will recognize several of these teams, including most notably Crazy Raccoon and Team Falcons, who faced off in the Grand Finals. Other teams like Toronto Ultra, ENCE, M80, Twisted Minds, and Spacestation also competed at this major after finding success in their groups.
However, some big names are making their first appearance in Overwatch 2 esports in quite some time, as the likes of FNATIC and Virtus.pro enter the mix for the Esports World Cup. All in all, whether you know these teams or not coming in, this set of 16 teams have been through the wringer and should make for a very interesting Group Stage.
