G2 complete CS roster with HeavyGod

HeavyGod parted ways with Cloud9 earlier today and just a few hours later, G2 Esports announced they will be adding the player to their roster. HeavyGod joined Cloud9 in July last year and notably led the team to qualify for the Perfect World Shanghai Major.

The player’s leadership yielded decent results for the team, but he also had a good individual showing. With a 1.16 rating on Cloud9, HeavyGod pulled punches when it mattered the most.

Happy to be a part of the team , happy to grind for trophies. thank you everyone for warm welcome and let's do our best to get some trophiesssss

The 22-year-old player had an even better performance during the European RMR. Cloud9 finished in the top five, despite losing a series to FaZe Clan. The team’s qualification to the Major was a significant step up for the Russian roster.

They didn’t have the best performance at the Major, facing opponents such as Complexity, Team Liquid, and paiN Gaming. Their only victory came against Rare Atom, the Chinese squad, but it was not enough as the team faced an early elimination through the Major.

What is G2’s Counter-Strike roster now?

G2’s Counter-Strike roster is as follows:

  • Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač
  • Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov
  • Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa
  • Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski
  • Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko
  • Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas (coach)

The team will be competing next in the BLAST Bounty Season 1, where they will go up against B8 esports in their opening match. BLAST Bounty Season 1 is a four-day event that has a $500,000 prize pool. With some of the best teams in competition, and most of them having recently undergone roster changes, this tournament promises to be full of surprises. Counter-Strike fans can catch all the action live on Twitch.
