The truth lies.
Call of Duty has confirmed a "dark new chapter" in the franchise: Black Ops 6. The announcement consists of various cryptic posts with conspiratorial themes and whispers of hidden truths.
We also now know that there is a free Calling Card reward to be claimed and that more information will be revealed on June 9.
Building up the Black Ops 6 hype
Rumors about CoD 2024 and its release date are already in circulation. However, this is the first official communication from Call of Duty. In an effort to make a big splash, they are flooding social media with posts about their upcoming title.
The truth lies
It's unclear what the exact storyline of Black Ops 6 will be, but a theme of conspiracy is apparent. Call of Duty made multiple posts across various social media platforms in the span of just a few hours.
The vast majority of these posts focus around the phrase "the truth lies." They feature vans, newspapers, and even vandalized national monuments all displaying the same message.
Most of the imagery surrounding Black Ops 6 is unmistakably set in the U.S. However, one particular post shows "the truth lies" posters at iconic locations in France, England, Germany, and Mexico. It is reasonable to assume the game will somehow incorporate these famous places.
