Sovereigns are a rare form of currency in Skull and Bones, which you’ll have to grind for as you work towards becoming a pirate kingpin.
As you progress through Skull and Bones, you'll soon realize Silver isn't the only currency taken on the high seas. There's premium currency, endgame currency, and even currency for moving up the leaderboard. The latter is known in Skull and Bones as Sovereigns, and we'll tell you how to get them.
How to obtain Sovereigns in Skull and Bones
The game does a wonderful job at explaining to you what everything is and how it works. It just doesn't do so until you reach the necessary points. Every informational cutscene is an important watch, especially if you want to get Sovereigns in the Skull and Bones endgame.
While Pieces of Eight are collected through the Helm, they also are needed to acquire Sovereigns. When you reach the Kingpin Infamy Rank, you'll be able to start your own smuggling operation in the Indian Ocean. Deliveries and manufactories are the main way to get Pieces of Eight.
As you increase your total of this currency, you'll move up the leaderboard. Thankfully, spending some does not lower your position. A weekly leaderboard and a seasonal leaderboard are available to see in the Helm offices. At the table, you can interact with the Helm Empire Overview.
The overall Pieces of Eight count as your score. Upgrading manufactories, doing supply runs, and moving production along quickly will net you more Pieces of Eight. Which in turn will grant you more Sovereigns in Skull and Bones.
Reaching additional tiers in the weekly and seasonal leaderboards reward you with Sovereigns. That's really all there is to it. You just need to reach the endgame and start collecting some coin for the Helm. Though it is a lot easier said than done.

Where to spend Sovereigns
Similar to Pieces of Eight, you can spend Sovereigns at the black markets of Skull and Bones. You can access it with either Yanita in Sainte-Anne or her sister in Telok Penjarah. Additionally, vanity items or ship cosmetics can be purchased with Sovereigns from their respective locations.
If you want to see only what is available for your hard-earned Sovereigns, you can filter the items in the shop. Then have a scroll through, if you've got enough of the currency to your name, and get yourself something nice.
