Skull and Bones is here with its worldwide launch, and Ubisoft has communicated an update that should make things smooth sailing.

Skull and Bones has had multiple testing betas and opened up for Early Access on February 12. That gave pirates with the Premium Edition a chance to jump in before everyone else. And now with the global launch here, Ubisoft has delivered a Skull and Bones update.

The team has worked to fix a few things based on bug reports. There are also some issues they are aware of, but haven't quite gotten around to yet. They consider these as in-progress situations that they are diligently working to resolve.

Ubisoft originally shared the update information on the official Skull and Bones X account. It's pretty fun to read through, as they mostly keep it in-character. Here are the updates you can expect when you set sail once more or for the first time come Skull and Bones full launch:

  • Fixed requirements for Tools of the Trade, Unwelcome Aboard, The Pirate Round, Untold Treasures, and Blood-Soaked Silver
  • Sped up regeneration of Acacia trees from 60 seconds to 30 seconds
  • Servers no longer kick players out every morning

In-progress problems

The amount of in-progress issues updated by Skull and Bones prior to launch is a bit longer than the fixes deployed. These should be a priority to resolve by the next update:

  • Death Mark Expired appearing on screen frequently
  • Rogue Ships attacking non-threatening players
  • Pre-order bonuses and vanity items not received
  • Character voice issues during The Devil's Maw contract
  • Text and voice chat turned off because of the KINGFISHER-4 error
  • General client and server stability issues

It's clear Ubisoft wants their pirating adventure to be as thrilling as possible when those with the standard edition join the party. This Skull and Bones launch update could go a long way in ensuring players remain happy, but consistent communication and fixes are a must for the future success of this game.
