Throw a lifeline to your teammates by mastering the iconic healer.
We've all mained Lifeline for a while. She is the default legend that the game starts you with, and is a sturdy team legend. Alongside Conduit, she is one of the two healing legends in the game.
Lifeline is rumoured to be getting a complete rework in Season 20. Currently, she can feel slightly underwhelming but she absolutely has her moments.
However, you won't need a doctor if you prescribe yourself our Apex Legends Lifeline guide.
Apex Legends Lifeline guide: What makes Lifeline a good legend?
The biggest strength of Lifeline is in her ability to reset after a fight incredibly quickly. Her hands free revive gives you time to reload, swap or even heal yourself. The Heal Drone also heals flesh incredibly quickly.
Strengths:
- Revive your teammates hands free.
- Guaranteed upgrades from her Care Package.
- Heal Drone can give you extra health in a fight.
Weaknesses:
- Care Package gives away your position.
- Heal Drone does not work in zone, or in heat shields.
- Lifeline only excels when you are in tough situations.
Lifeline Tactical:
- The Drone Of Compassion (DOC) automatically heals those near it over time.
- Places a hovering healing drone that heals all players within 6 meters.
- Heals 8 health per second with an infinite healing pool, and lasts 20 seconds.
- The drone cannot be moved around once placed.
The D.O.C Heal Drone is the fastest way to heal in the game. It heals at a fast rate, and can heal an unlimited amount of health.
Tips for D.O.C Heal Drone:
Tip #1:
Don't use the Drone only when you are resetting after a fight. The Drone heals fast enough that you can use it mid fight as well. If you're low on Health and Shields, throwing the drone down while you pop a Shield Battery means you are hitting two birds with one stone.
Tip #2:
The D.O.C Heal Drone should also always be placed before you revive a teammate. That way it can heal you while you activate the revive, and will instantly start healing your teammate once they are back on their feet.
Tip #3:
The D.O.C Heal Drone used to survive in Heat Shields. However, this led to an exploit in Ranked. Now, the Drone does not survive in Zone or in Heat Shields at all. Don't waste it and have to wait out the extremely long 45 second cooldown.
Lifeline Passive:
- Deploy D.O.C to revive teammates, leaving Lifeline free to defend.
- Can revive two players at the same time.
- Players being revived by Lifeline can cancel their revive.
The Combat Revive is a powerful tool when you need to quickly reset after a fight. It allows Lifeline to either engage the third party or heal and re-loot herself while her allies get back into the game.

Tips for Combat Revive:
Tip #1:
The Combat Revive can sometimes actually be a bad thing to have in your mind. After all, playing behind your knocked teammates Knockdown Shield can be a very powerful position to be in. Don't always feel like you have to instantly revive your teammates if you'll benefit from their Knockdown instead.
Tip #2:
When you first activate the Combat Revive, there is a slight loss of momentum. This can cause you to be vulnerable in the heat of battle. If you slide into the revive then you won't lose any momentum.
Lifeline Ultimate:
- Call in a droppod full of high quality defensive gear.
- Care Packages come with 3 item slots, and always guarantee an upgrade to the player's squad’s current loadout, if possible. The slots contain the following:
Slot One: | Slot Two: | Slot Three: |
---|---|---|
Evo Shield | Shield Cells | Weapon Attachments |
Helmet | Shield Batteries | |
Knockdown Shield | Syringes | |
Med Kits | ||
Mobile Respawn Beacons | ||
Heat Shields | ||
Phoenix Kits |
The Care Package is a sure fire way to improve your loot during the game. It has a hefty 3.5 minute cooldown but the guaranteed upgrades to your current equipment make it worth the wait.
Tips for Care Package:
Tip #1:
Don't underestimate the value of this ability. The opportunity to get upgraded equipment, especially shields is really strong. It determines the rarity of an upgrade from the lowest ranked item on your team. So, if there is a shield you haven't picked up yet, wait before you place that care package so you actually get an upgrade.
Tip #2:
The Care Package undoubtedly decreases in value in the last stages of the game. When you are triple red armor with the best attachments, what else is there to get? However, the actual Care Package itself does have some value as cover! If you place the Care Package in a tactical position it can make the difference in a tense late game situation.
Apex Legends Lifeline guide: What legends work well with Lifeline?
Lifeline is actually a very flexible legend when it comes to playstyles. After all, you have to fight eventually and she excels in those resetting situations.
Aggressive Playstyles:
Horizon is simply a strong aggressive legend and a good pick for any team at the moment. Both Bangalore and Mad Maggie can benefit from certain attachments. Bangalore with Digital Threats and Mad Maggie with Shotgun Bolts. Lifelines Care Package can make sure that both legends have what they need.
Passive Playstyles:
Between Loba and Lifeline you will never lack any resources. In particular, Loba can gather Ultimate Accelerants which will let Lifeline get her Care Package back. Caustic can help delay enemy pushes with his gas. This will give Lifeline time to revive her teammates. Wraith both benefits from Lifeline reviving her if she over extends, but also adds some movement to the team.
Lifeline can help you fight off one of the most annoying aspects of any Apex Legends match, the third party. Revive, reset and get back into the action with the best healing legend.
