Hear from esports.gg about the Razer Viper V3 Pro, a gaming mouse shaped by the feedback of championship-winning pros.

If you're in need of a top-of-the-line gaming mouse, the Viper V3 Pro from Razer will take you to new heights. It is quite literally the mouse of a champion, and it has proven itself as one of the most efficient on the market.

We got our hands on one, put it through the wringer, and have a review for you. But first, let's take a look at what Razer delivers with the Viper V3 Pro.

Everything you need to know about Razer's Viper V3 Pro mouse

When we say it is the mouse of a champion, that is because Sentinels VALORANT player Zachary "zekken" Patrone used the Viper V3 Pro as he helped his team to an international trophy. He utterly dominated with the mouse's prototype in VCT Americas Kickoff and Masters Madrid.

Outside of his usage, the mouse was tested at IEM Sydney 2024, IEM Katowice 2024, and PGL Major Copenhagen. Feedback from pros quickly came in. Razer listened and added things like a more tactile scroll wheel, larger mouse feet, and a unified power/DPI button.

An overview of the mouse's design and functionality

The approval of professional esports players is a great starting point, but we know you need more. Like what the mouse looks like, the performance it delivers, and how it'll function in your hand.

Here are the things that stood out to us regarding the Viper V3 Pro:

  • 54g Ultra-lightweight Design
  • Up to 95 hours of battery life
  • A 90-million click lifecycle with zero double-click issues
  • Designed for claw and fingertip grip styles
  • True 8000 Hz Wireless Polling Rate with the included dongle
  • Up to 85% of its plastics are made from bio-degradable renewable materials and are Post-Consumer Recycled ABS
    • Even the packaging uses 22% less material than the Viper V2 Pro

The box comes with everything you need. You can see details of the Razer Viper V3 Pro, including a list of sponsored esports teams on the side. The likes of OpTic Gaming, DRX, and EDward Gaming have their logos there.

Inside, you'll obviously find the mouse itself, along with a set of pre-cut grip tape if you want to change the texture of the mouse. It has a USB Type C slot on the front, with a Type A to Type C cable provided.

The HyperPolling Wireless Dongle is available for you to seamlessly transition from a wired, charging state to a wireless locked in state for your gaming. That's all you need to get going with this mouse.

Customization features

If you have a Razer product, such as the Viper V3 Pro mouse, you are probably familiar with Razer Synapse. The PC application lets you see all of your Razer devices in one place for easy customization and optimization.

When it comes to this mouse, select it from the main Synapse screen after you download the program. You'll then see a handful of different navigational tabs you can open. Here is each one and what you're able to customize within:

  • Customize: Change or set bindings for keyboard functionality, multimedia viewing, and more for each mouse button.
  • Performance: Adjust the sensitivity and DPI, choose a polling rate, and even match the sensitivity of the mouse you previously used.
  • Power: Select the amount of time to pass for it to enter sleep mode and the battery percentage for when it enters low power mode.
  • Calibration: Smart Tracking allows you to choose a tracking distance regardless of the mat you use, including the ability to toggle Asymmetric Cut-off.
  • Advanced: Dynamic Sensitivity allows you to adjust it to Classic, Natural, Jump, or a Custom option and Rotation can be toggled for precision horizontal movement no matter your grip style.

Our review of the Razer Viper V3 Pro gaming mouse

This reviewer had never used a wireless gaming mouse before opening the Razer Viper V3 Pro. And it is safe to say there is no going back after 100+ hours. The lightweight feel gives even the most heavy-handed individuals total control over the device.

It was truly a game changing experience. Coupled with the Razer Firefly V2 Pro mousemat, using the Razer Viper V3 Pro felt like the clock was turned back, and this old man (in esports years) was clicking heads like a pro.

Score: 5/5

Ranking up and performing well in games like VALORANT, Counter-Strike 2, and XDefiant was more than achievable. It happened. And for someone who also enjoys non-competitive games like Skull and Bones and even Garry's Mod, having such a powerful mouse didn't feel like overkill.

We're giving the Razer Viper V3 Pro a perfect score of 5/5. We were expecting a neatly designed, performance-focused esports mouse. We weren't expecting a mouse that actually improved the player behind it.
