After proving his worth with MIBR, SEN cortezia is confident he can bring Brazilian talent to the global stage.

After proving he has what it takes to become one of the top sentinel players, MIBR cortezia is now SEN cortezia, having joined the black-and-red team at the end of 2025. The 20-year-old Brazilian believes he can bring recognition and achieve great success, following in the footsteps of other legendary players.

In an interview with esports.gg, SEN cortezia discussed his new adventure with the North American team, team synergy, Sacy, his year with MIBR, and much more!

Wearing black and red

For cortezia, wearing black and red is different. "It is a beautiful shirt, right?" he said. "I think I matched." On the first of November, it was announced that cortezia would be joining Sentinels. "My dad hates black and red because of Flamengo, our football rivals. He’s a Fluminense fan, but he’s okay with me wearing those colors," he laughed.

His debut with Sentinels couldn’t have been better. At the SEN City 2025 event, he earned MVP honors after delivering standout performances in victories over ENVY, Cloud9, and Cubert Academy. "I knew becoming MVP would be tough because there are so many strong players on our team. I went into the tournament focused on what we needed to improve, but I ended up having a lot of fun. Thank God we played really well," he said. "I'm really proud of the team. My goal is always to win."

Team synergy and Pokémon cards

After winning the SEN City tournament, cortezia posted a picture on X with the team and a N4RRATE Pokémon card. We wanted to know which Pokémon would cortezia be, and he chose his favorite. "I will say my favorite because I think it fits. My favorite is Keldeo, a water Pokémon. He is from the Sword of Justice movie. It is a bit old, but I like it a lot. However, I would love to be Umbreon because Eevee's evolutions are so pretty."

In a team full of energy and talent, cortezia feels completely integrated and confident that they all complement each other’s “freaks.” So, who’s the funniest? "I think it’s definitely between reduxx and N4RRATE. I’d probably go with N4RRATE because they’re both really crazy, but in different ways."

Communicating in English

"My English is already good. The boys say I'm fluent," cortezia laughs. "N4RRATE says I look like a middle-school kid, but he means it as a compliment. He says kids are always fluent. I still have a lot of small details to learn, but they’re minor."

Due to playing with Verno and fRoD in MIBR, he had the chance to speak a lot in English. "The difference was that I spoke English during practices, but I spoke Portuguese with the Brazilian members. Now, it's just English, so I feel like I'm evolving a lot."

The 2026 season

Ahead of the 2026 season, cortezia has big dreams he hopes to achieve. "I want to be more consistent. At the start of the year, I was a bit off. My goal is to help my team throughout the entire season, not just in a few matches. I’d love to win Champions, but I’d also really like to win a domestic title since I haven’t won one yet. This year, I proved I have a lot of potential."

With two Masters titles to their name, Sentinels are seeking their first Champions trophy, which remains absent from their collection. Ahead of the next season, cortezia believes even greater things lie ahead. He appreciates Sentinels for their close connection to the community, which he finds incredible and says gives him a comforting, “home-like” feeling.

[Sacy] told me that I have the opportunity to make history here in the organization.

SEN cortezia

"I come from a culture where fans are very warm and welcoming. I was a bit nervous about leaving Brazilian fans and going somewhere where the vibe might be different. But I’ve found the American fans here to be really warm and supportive, even though I’ve been with the team for less than a month. I believe we’ll achieve great things together next season," he added.

From Brazil to the World

"I hope to accomplish something as remarkable as what Sacy achieved. All the Brazilians were thrilled when he won Masters in Madrid, as if it were a little piece of us. I hope the Brazilian fans can feel the same way about me," cortezia stated. "When it’s a match between Sentinels and a Brazilian team, whether it’s FURIA, MIBR, or LOUD, they’ll probably cheer for Brazil, and that’s fine. But against other teams, they can cheer for me. I can feel that affection," he said.

Sacy is widely regarded as one of the greatest Brazilian VALORANT players ever. Although he retired at the end of 2024, he remains a strong presence in the scene, especially for younger Brazilian players. Now part of Sentinels, cortezia appreciates all the kind words and support Sacy has given him. "He helped a lot, and I'm very grateful to him because he was the one who introduced me to MIBR. Maybe, if he hadn't, I would never have had this opportunity to play in the Tier 1. He told me that I have the opportunity to make history here in the organization," he added.

Thank you, MIBR!

"Thank you, MIBR. I’ll always have a lot of affection for you because you gave me my first chance. You were part of my story. When I was thinking about giving up, you were there for me. We’ve taken different paths since, but that’s part of the journey. I hope we can meet again in the future and have a lot of fun," said SEN cortezia.

After stints with teams like TropiCaos, Red Canids, MIBR, and now Sentinels, cortezia faces brand-new challenges ahead of the next season.
