Phase 1

The tournament already brings big surprises. Punk, the SF6 Evo 2024 champion, is out of the EWC. And MenaRD, the SF6 Evo Japan Champion, has been eliminated too — interesting enough, he lost to the American player Dual Kevin, who qualified via LCQ.

After day 1 of the tournament, these eight players proceed to Phase 2 from four groups: gachikun, Ryukichi, AngryBird, Problem X, NoahTheProdigy, Kakeru, xiaohai, and Dual Kevin.

Players who qualified for Phase 2 on the second day of the EWC SF6 are Hikaru and Chris Wong from group E; Kawano and Tachikawa from group F. Interestingly enough, Tachikawa reached so far while playing on Modern Controls.

From group G, Leshar and Bonchan are moving further in the tournament. Higuchi and moke qualified from group H.

In the semi-finals, we have three Japanese and one Chinese players.

  • Tachikawa vs Kawano — 4:5, and Kawano proceeds to the grand final
  • Xiao Hai vs gachikun — 5:3, Xiao Hai got an early advantage, and gachikun couldn't make this comeback despite his best tries.

The Street Fighter 6 Esports World Cup 2024 grand final, Kawano vs Xiao Hai is an epic match!

  • Kawano vs Xiao Hai — 2:5; Xiao Hai wins this match and the whole tournament.

Xiao Hai is the SF6 EWC 2024 champion! He made it from winning KOF XV Evo 2024 to this victory, which is amazingly impressive.
