Finally, we have details on Pokémon Legends Z-A.
We finally have details about the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A games. This game was announced during the last Pokémon Presents in 2024, and we have had to wait an entire year for any further details. The radio silence on any details has resulted in a huge raft of rumours about the game.
Thankfully, we now have official details about the game. Here is everything we know about Pokémon Legends: Z-A after todays Pokémon Presents 2025 announcement.
Pokémon Legends ZA Starters confirmed
After much speculation, we finally know the starters for Legends ZA. The three starters will be Tepig, Totodile and Chikorita. This is a brand new combination of starters, never seen before in any game.

Legends ZA is set in the recent past
Unlike Legends Arceus, Pokémon Legends ZA is set in the recent past. It was revealed today that this game will be set in Luminiose City as the game undergoes an urban transformation. This will create a vibrant urban cityscape for you to play in.
Around the city will be "wild zones" that will act as wild environments for Pokémon, this is how you will be able to encounter wild Pokémon given the game is based inside a city.

Map revealed
We also now have the official map for Luminose City, where the game is set.

Release window narrowed
We have also been told that the Legends ZA release date will be in "Late 2025", this is a much narrower period than the previous 2025 window. That will mean that the game should release on the new Switch 2 console, which is set to release in the middle of 2025. There were no details on an exact release date, prices or more during todays Pokémon Presents.
Mega Evolutions return
We have official and clear confirmation that Mega Evolution will be returning when Legends ZA releases. We didn't get to see any new Mega Evolutions during the Trailer. However, it would be a huge shock if we didn't get any new Mega Evolutions when the game releases.

It has been widely speculated that Zygarde could get a Mega Evolution.
