Mortal Kombat 1 (MK1) Pro Kompetition 2023-24 will be completed on June 16 with the Final Kombat event. Players need to prove their might to qualify for this prestigious tournament. Two qualifying spots are for North American (NA) players. NA East and West regional finals had determined one winner per sub-region.



It’s quite interesting to follow these matches as they clearly show what MK1 characters are the strongest in the current meta and what Kameos are the best for them. Also, these specific tournaments have demonstrated the growth of the online competitive scene. Players who dominate many weekly tourneys win such big qualifiers. Can they repeat their success in the offline environment?

MK1 Pro Kompetition 2023-24: NA East



TheMightyUnjust looked unstoppable in the MK1 NA regional final. May this be the power of Peacemaker? In most of the fights, the character was accompanied by Khameleon, but TheMightyUnjust also took Kano for some matchups. Xombat fell to the losers bracket after a match against another super strong player in the sub-region, Ninjakilla_212. They played again in the losers final, and the match was much closer with a different outcome.

In the grand final, both players stuck to one character and Kameo pair: Peacemaker/Khameleon for TheMightyUnjust and Johnny Cage/Goro. This brought initial success for Xombat, as he won the first match and reset the brackets with 3-1.



Then, TheMightyUnjust adapted and recovered. He won the grand final reset and the regional final. This means we will be able to see TheMightyUnjust playing at the MK1 Final Kombat 2024 event.

Two players qualify for Final Kombat via NA League: MK1 characters to win

Apex icon ImperialHal has announced he is leaving TSM. The 'Apex CEO' has competed under the TSM banner since March 2019 earning almost three quarters of a million dollars with the organisation. ImperialHal also has announced he will be linking up with Zer0 and Genburten at DarkZero. 



However, he has announced that now is the right time for him to leave the organisation. This decision follows a sup-par LAN event for TSM.



The multi-LAN champion explained in a video posted on X, that this decision was about him seeking a change rather than any issue with the organisation. It is not clear if he will be officially signing with DarkZero or just teaming with them. Hal recently signed with Redbull Gaming.

ImperialHal leaving TSM is the end of an era



ImperialHal departing TSM is the end of an iconic era of Apex Legends esports. TSM dominated ALGS Year 3, with an almost perfect set of LAN results. They finished 1st, 2nd and 1st across the three global events.



ImperialHal has earned over $700,000 in Apex Legends, with all of that coming while signed to TSM. He joined the organisation in 2019 and has never competed for another team until now.







What happens to Reps and Verhulst?



It is not yet clear what the future holds for Reps and Verhulst on TSM. Together they will hold a Pro League spot. However, after the departure of Raven and now ImperialHal this feels like a huge crossroads for the TSM team. Reps in particular has competed with ImperialHal for the vast majority of his career. Do they continue to compete together, look for other teams or could we see one or both of them stop competing entirely?

ImperialHal has announced he will be teaming with DarkZero, for the rest of ALGS Year 4. The rumours, while initially unbelievable, have now been officially confirmed.

Next, navigate to Overwatch 2 and click on the game's icon. If you play the game a lot, it should appear in the banner indicating your favorite games. The Esports World Cup has released more details about their Apex Legends event. The Apex Legends tournament in Riyadh will have a $2,000,000 prize pool, will feature 40 teams and will be open for anyone to try and enter!



That makes this event the joint highest Apex Legends prize-pool ever, tied with the ALGS Championship events. 



Apex Legends Esports World Cup event format



The event will use a different format to what we have seen at ALGS LAN events. The Apex Legends esports World Cup event will divide the 40 teams into two groups. Those teams will compete for a top 9 slot to qualify for the finals. 



Then, teams who finished between 10th and 19th (meaning 20th place is eliminated early) will compete in a high stakes Last Chance Qualifier for the final two slots in the grand finals.







The event will run as follows:

Group Stage and Last Chance stages will be a whopping TEN games.



The Finals will use the Match Point format, with a threshold of 60 points, not the usual 50.



The Maps used will be Storm Point and Worlds Edge. However, games five and six in the Group Stage and Last Chance are marked as Viewer Selection in the Rule Book. It is not clear if that is a choice between Worlds Edge and Storm Point, or if fans could vote to add in one of Olympus, Broken Moon or Kings Canyon.



Which teams will play?



The Esports World Cup will be inviting the top eight teams from the recent ALGS Pro League across the four regions. For all regions besides North America, this will be the exact same teams that qualified for the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs.



North America has 12 slots for that event, meaning some teams will be forced into open qualifiers. This might cause some frustration with those teams, who didn't realise qualification for this event was also on the line.

With the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs over, and about three weeks until Split 2 Pro League starts there is a window for ALGS teams to make roster changes.



Usually, there wouldn't be any major changes between Splits, as teams look to focus on practicing rather than rebuilding their team. However, there is set to be some major reshuffles. Particularly amongst teams in North America.



This ALGS roster changes tracker will help you follow any changes as and when they happen. For now, this will focus on North America and EMEA.

ALGS Rostermania: Roster Rules Recap



ALGS teams are restricted by a 2/4 roster rule. Any team must maintain at least 2 competitors from the last Pro League Split. Qualified teams cannot make ALGS roster changes until after Week 1 (besides adding players/coaches).



In order to give themselves more flexibility, some teams register their coach as a fourth player. This allows them to potentially change 2 players out between splits. Those coaches have been denoted.



All ALGS roster changes information below is a correlation of public 'LFT' posts and news, cross referenced with Battlefy rosters. 



Players who are still on Battlefy but have announced they are leaving their roster are treated as departed. Players who are not on Battlefy but have not said anything about a team change, are also treated as departed.

100 Thieves are the winners of the VCT Americas Stage 1 Playoffs. Following their sweep of G2 Esports, we chatted with the team's IGL, Kelden "Boostio" Pupello. 






He spoke with us about the dominant victory in the Grand Final, how it all came together on 100 Thieves, and how he's looking forward to Masters Shanghai.

Boostio: "I mean, I think I've been saying it all split. We proved we're the best team at this tournament. I also tweeted out that we would come back and 3:0 them in the Grand Final. Because we played like sh*t in the Upper Final. And I think we proved it. We all came today actually wanting to win.



"We were not trying at all, like actually, it was the weirdest series in my life. Even I lit up the gas, which I usually don't do. So, it was pretty bad on my part. But coming into this Grand Finals, we knew we 100% wanted to win it, and we were going to 100% try our hardest. We demolished them."



"Just give me a quick rundown of the series then. A nice 3:0 to end the split. What were some of your highlight moments you’d like to share?"



Boostio: "I think a lot of it was attack on Breeze. I played really well. I just kind of ran them down. Pistol round, I ran them down. I was calling really good on Breeze as well. So, it just all kind of came together for for me on that Breeze map. So, I'd just say all of Breeze attack, to be honest. Defense was a little rough, but Breeze attack was nice."

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is nearing its end. With Season 3 expected to launch May 24, teasers, rumors, and leaks have surfaced. Apart from the obvious Fortnite roadmap leak, some mini-events have occurred on the current map in the lead-up to Chapter 5 Season 3. The third phase in the build-up to Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 arrived on May 16. It depicted yet another lightning strike onto Pandora's Box. This occurrence caused players in the lobby to float into the sky and witness the strike skip out to the water in the distance and begin what many believe is a sandstorm.

This ensuing sandstorm produced a small light that could be seen within the darkness. It reportedly read "No hope" in Morse code.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3: Live event, countdown, and leaks

It has been almost two weeks since the release of the Crownfall event in Dota 2. The event brought Dota 2 players the long-awaited Arcanas, Treasures, and a lengthy event game. It is divided into four parts and we are currently heading towards the end of Act I: The Markets of Midgate. So when does the Crownfall Act II: The Deserts of Druud unlock?



When is the Crownfall Act II start date



Crownfall Act II will unlock mid-May, around May 14 to May 21. Additionally, according to data miners, Act I will last until May 14 so Act II will likely follow up on the day itself or on May 15. 







UPDATE: Dota 2 just changed the caption from "unlocks mid-may" to "unlocks next week". This means Crownfall Act II will likely arrive from May 20 - 26.







If you're looking forward to finish the Main Quest and the additional Side Quests, there's still plenty of time to progress. But if you're far behind and you don't feel like you have enough time, fret not, there's no need to be hasty. Valve has made it so you can progress according to your own comfort and pace as Act I will not expire upon the next Act's arrival.

While the Dota 2 client did show the approximate date for Crownfall's Act II, it has yet to show any hints for the other Acts. However, data miners have leaked their findings for the dates. Here are the leaked dates for Act I to Act IV of Crownfall:

VCT Americas 2024: Stage 2 begins after Masters Shanghai

VALORANT server maintenance has been going on for several hours on May 14, preventing players from even loading the game. Here's more on when you will be able to get back in and try out the upcoming set of patch notes.

When will VALORANT servers be online?



Update 10 a.m. PDT: VALORANT servers are back online, including the new Masters Shanghai home screen and updates from patch 8.09.



VALORANT devs have yet to release information about when exactly players can expect to regain access to servers, but it should be sometime around 11 a.m. PDT on May 14. Servers have been down since roughly 5:30 a.m. PDT, meaning that players have not had access to the game for nearly five hours at the time of this article's release.






This comes as a result of regularly scheduled maintenance for May, which will add in lots of new content to the tactical shooter. Here's more on what to expect to come as a result of the May 14 server downtime.

The error code VAL 46 is not an issue with the player's computer, but simply an error code signaling a new update is being worked on by developers and servers are down as a result. This error code should be removed once scheduled maintenance is complete and servers are back online!






May 14 VALORANT update



As of right now, the only contents of the May 14 update for patch 8.09 are small buffs to Brimstone and a small set of bug fixes, according to VALORANT developers. However, there have already been several leaks about some other big additions coming, which could explain the extended downtime.



Chief among these is a new Holomoku skin bundle that has been leaked, which will feature a new Outlaw skin, among others, and a new player card. However, it also looks like we may be getting a new home screen to commemorate VCT Masters Shanghai, which
