“The beauty and the beast”: Faker’s Ahri skin updated after his LoL Worlds 2024 victory

One of the most controversial skins in the game, the Hall of Legends Ahri skin, was updated after T1's victory in League of Legends 2025 World Championship. Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok is the first pro player in the Hall of Legends, created to honor impactful professional players in the game's history.

As you can see from the old recall, four trophies around Ahri appeared, representing the four times Faker won a LoL Worlds championship: 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2023.

However, due to the new title acquired last year, Riot Games' team decided to update the skin with a fifth trophy. Faker's skin will now be more accurate about the international achievements of the Korean mid-laner.

Another update came to the Faker's Ahri skin-loading screen card. At the bottom, we could see four stars - representing the Worlds titles as well - but now you'll see five stars.

There is still no information about possible new updates if Faker wins the championship again in 2025's edition. A fan even wrote on X: "Imagine Faker just keeps on winning and the skin gets cluttered with trophies during recalls that you can barely see the model".

One of the main problems of fans with those skins was the price. Reaching the $500 price tag, many fans refused to pay that amount of money for a skin, accusing Riot Games of taking advantage of Faker's popularity and fans' dedication.

Another vocal person about this issue is one of the biggest League of Legends streamers, Marc "Caedrel" Lamont, who expressed his disappointment on X. "500 dollars for a skin & 30% revenue split is absolutely disgusting," said Caedrel. "[I] doubt it'll change," he concluded.

The majority of the League of Legends community has been consensual: no one wants to pay $500 in a skin. However, with the Hall of Legends Ahri new update, new jokes reappeared within the community. "Each star costs $100", wrote a fan on X. Another user commented "Congrats to the three owners!".

On the other side, some fans thanked Riot for the update since it's important to maintain the skin and compensate for the money people bought it for. "This is actually a good thing from Riot. If they make a $500 skin this is a must from them", a user wrote on X. Other said: "It's nice that they keep going into these little details. Very few skins do that nowadays".
