If you're a fan of Nemsy Necrofizzle, then you're in luck. She's now the default hero for the Warlock class. To add more chaos into the mix, Nemsy is now also the default Shaman hero. Move aside, Gul'dan and Thrall!

Since it's no longer the month of March, the current March of the Lich King expansion name is now appropriately named "April of the Lich King."

Next, there's a new game mode that's replacing Wild. The patch notes joke that "Hearthstone Mild" only allows cards from Rastakhan’s Rumble and The Grand Tournament!

Meanwhile, fans of pineapple on pizza can rejoice with the Pineapple Pizza card back featured in the patch notes.

"The “Make Bad Cards” button has been deprecated. Only good cards will be made from now on," the Hearthstone April Fools' Day patch notes added.

The Hearthstone team is also inspecting players for mana cheating where unpaid mana is owed by the end of Year of the Wolf. Additionally, the patch notes indicate that if a player gets paired up with a streamer, then they can visit their stream and do some stream sniping.

Hearthstone April Fools' Day cards

A bunch of cards are showcased in these April Fools' Day patch notes as well. For example, Quartermaster buffs more and has an updated voice line. Meanwhile, corrupting cards also means corrupting their artwork.

Additionally, the new card text for Hemet Nesingwary is "Send a Beast to a farm upstate" instead of the original "Destroy a Beast." As for the Worgen Greaser, it's not totally even more perfect!

Removed keywords, Battlegrounds updates, and more

The patch notes also go into how some keyword text is no longer in Hearthstone. For example, Zilliax is now just a 5 mana 3/2 while Scourge Rager's text is just "Die."

As for Hearthstone Battlegrounds, Titus Rivendare, Tarecgosa, and Picky Eater are featured in the patch notes. Picky Eater, in particular, now has a Murloc-only diet.

Meanwhile, Bob can jeer and boo, Rune requirements are needed to play as the Lich King, and selling your Battlegrounds Buddy ends your friendship. Oh, and Nemsy is also taking over this game mode as the default Battlegrounds Bartender. Oops! All Nemsy!

The Hearthstone April Fools' Day 2023 patch notes also feature a bunch of hilarious bug fixes, as noted by Blizzard:

  • Fixed seven bugs at once by deleting Swarm of Locusts.
  • Craftsmanship no longer applies Direblight to Green cards.
  • Destroying a single Demon as a Hunter will no longer unlock the Demon Hunter class.
  • Fixed a TOP SECRET bug with the Rogue Questline. We can’t tell you what it was or we’d have to kill you.
  • Fixed a bug that instantly won the game (after all our devs hit Legend with it).
  • Fixed a bug where Paladins could attack with The Immovable Object.
