Luminosity Gaming in the esports industry
On Aug. 21, it was announced that Vertiqal Studios has acquired both Luminosity Gaming and Omnia Media from Enthusiast Gaming. The Canadian team currently competes in Apex Legends, League of Legends, Super Smash Bros, Pokémon Unite, Mortal Kombat, Pokémon GO, and PUBG, and includes one of the most successful Fighting Game Community (FGC) players, Dominique "SonicFox" McLean.
In 2016, Luminosity Gaming claimed the MLG Major Championship: Columbus, the first-ever held in North America, with its legendary Brazilian roster featuring Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, and Marcelo "coldzera" David. They then left for SK Gaming, and the team had never reached the same heights. After focusing on the Brazilian scene, LG returned to North America and has continued to field teams in various popular esports.
