Nigma Galaxy will act as Galaxy Racer’s Esports Team Division, and looks to pave the way for the esports scene in the Middle East.

Team Nigma need no introduction. Apart from 4/5 of their members winning TI7 under the Liquid moniker, they are without a doubt one of Dota 2's fan-favorite teams. As for Galaxy Racer, while they may have only recently burst into the Dota 2 scene, they are esports giants of their own. From Esports Teams, Content Creators, Tournament Management, Merch and Lifestyle and even their own record label, Galaxy Racer has it all.

In a release today, the two organizations have announced a unique merger.

Fret not - both the Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi squad and the GXR SEA roster will stay intact. Instead, this will be an expansion of sorts for the Team Nigma we know and love.

What Does Nigma Galaxy Entail for Both Organizations?

Team Nigma will head the esports team division of Galaxy Racer under the Nigma Galaxy brand. This newly formed entity will house rosters across all major esports titles. Titles include League of Legends, VALORANT, CS:GO, Free Fire, PUBG Mobile, Fortnite and Wild Rift.

On the side of Galaxy Racer, this signing is no doubt a huge move for the organization. Despite their rosters across multiple titles, none are as high profile as the Nigma squad. It is likely that the iconic Dota team will become one of Nigma Galaxy's flagship rosters.

A Sky Full of Stars for the MENA Region

Nigma had moved its operations to Abu Dhabi previously to double down on their focus on the MENA region. The merger is one Nigma manager and co-founder Mohammad Morad believes is a natural one.

"We are thrilled to announce our merger with Galaxy Racer. Galaxy Racer has a brilliant understanding of the entertainment business and together we share a mutual passion for supporting and nurturing talent within the MENA region. There is also a lot of natural synergy between our brands with Nigma meaning “star” in Arabic. Before this merger, Nigma was a single star. By becoming Nigma Galaxy, we will have a Galaxy full of stars."

Historically, the MENA region has been an underrepresented one in the esports scene. With Nigma Galaxy unveilled, the two organizations hope to change that.

"Team Nigma’s leadership team carries vast experience as professional players. We believe this will be a great asset to building and supporting all the teams under the Nigma Galaxy banner. Celebrating and nurturing the untapped gaming community around the world is what Galaxy Racer was founded on. With this merger, we believe we will be able to truly unlock this potential and shape the future of esports on a global scale.”

Nigma Galaxy will operate as a stand-alone entity, retaining the current Nigma colors. As for Galaxy Racer, they will focus on developing their content creator structure and expand even further.

On the esports side of things, this new partnership shines bright with hope for the MENA scene. With the goal of creating better opportunities for players in the Middle East - the region is about to enter a whole new world.
