Fortnite’s Times Square event included live performances by Snoop Dogg and Ice Spice.

Epic Games and Fortnite took over Times Square in New York City for the Fortnite Remix: The Prelude event. Headlined by rap artists Ice Spice and Snoop Dogg, the two performed to a live audience before Fortnite said goodbye to Chapter 5. Fortnite has since revealed the Snoop Dogg skin, added Ice Spice to the mix, and confirmed that Eminem will receive an additional skin. Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix will also prominently all three artists during the season.

Ice Spice led the event after a makeshift stage and DJ booth opened in one of Times Square's iconic billboards. Snoop Dogg then emerged and performed some of his most recognizable tracks, including The Next Episode and Drop It Like It's Hot, the latter of which a Fortnite Emote is based upon. Players could either view the event in full screen or while exploring and emoting at the Restored Reels point of interest (POI).

Hundreds of onlookers gathered in New York's Times Square to witness yet another milestone event in Fortnite history. Concerts in the game are nothing new, but concerts outside of the game celebrating a new season are rare. It's only fitting that Snoop Dogg would headline the event preceding a rap-centric Fortnite season.

According to HYPEX, 10 million players tuned in to watch the event, making it one of the most-attended Fortnite events in history.

These two artists are not the first to involve themselves in Fortnite. In fact, the game's Icon Series has brought many celebrties from sports, music, and more into the game. Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, J Balvin, and Eminem are just a few of the many musicians to have in-game Fortnite skins.

Ice Spice and Snoop Dogg's Times Square event served not only as the lead-in to the upcoming Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix season. It was also a way to introduce their Fortnite skins. Snoop Dogg's in-game Outfit will be available on Nov. 2 via the Fortnite Festival Pass. Those looking to grab the Ice Spice skin must wait until week three of the season.

The Fortnite Times Square event also revealed that a new Eminem skin is on the way alongside the long-awaited arrival of a Juice WRLD Fortnite skin. There is much to look forward to in the new season, and the kick-off will certainly attract thousands of players.
