Two new characters were announced during Evo 2024 for MultiVersus; Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice.

The playable roster of the platform fighting game MultiVersus is getting bigger. Soon after the release of Agent Smith, the developers announced two first characters of Season 2: MultiVersus Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice. The announcement was made during EVO 2024.

Samurai Jack in MultiVersus

This character originates in the cartoon series Samurai Jack. A young prince was sent to the future by an evil demon. With his magic katana, Samurai Jack should get stronger and find a way to return back — and defeat the demon Aku.

Having a sword may feel like an unfair advantage in MultiVersus matches. But many opponents here have their weapons, so Samurai Jack fits nicely.

Gameplay Trailer

A gameplay trailer for this new MultiVersus character was shown during Evo 2024.

Samurai Jack is a bruiser in MultiVersus, which means he is a rushdown character with a good offensive moveset. His sword combos look cool and effective. His movements are quick, especially on the platforms.

Beetlejuice in MultiVersus

This creepy person is a bio-exorcist who helps ghosts get rid of people. Betelgeuse, pronounced as Beetlejuice, is a total disaster for everyone around. Saying his name three times to summon him… it’s not a good idea.

The original film Beetlejuice was released in 1988, directed by Tim Burton with Michael Keaton playing Betelgeuse. Warner Bros. Pictures releases a sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, in September 2024. As MultiVersus is published by Warner Bros. Games, it’s not a surprise to see MultiVersus Beetlejuice in the game.
