TI13 direct invites, format, qualifier system, and MORE announced!

Valve just dropped massive details regarding The International 2024, also called TI13. Valve also dropped the qualifier dates and teams as well as the entire format of TI13. More below!

TI13 will see the massive event separated into two parts - The Road to the International and The International. A familiar format used during TI12. The Road to the International comprises the entire qualifier stage including the Group Stage and the early phase of the Playoffs that will take place in a LAN studio setting.

The International will only truly begin with the final eight teams clashing live in front of the audience at the Copenhagen's Royal Arena. This will take place from Friday, September 13th through Sunday, September 15th. Fans looking forward to spectate the event live can purchase tickets this upcoming, June 10th.

Valve revealed a lineup of (pretty obvious) direct invites for TI13. These teams have without a doubt dominated the first half of 2024 with consistent achievements. Teams invited to The International 2024 are Team Spirit, Xtreme Gaming, Team Falcons, Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, and BetBoom Team.

The International 2024 Qualifiers: How many slots per region?

With six teams already invited, only ten more slots remain at TI13. The slots will be taken over by victorious teams across regional qualifiers.

Interestingly, Valve does not include the Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) region for TI13 qualifiers. This sees all MENA teams, namely Nigma Galaxy and PSG Quest, competing under the Western European region.

The International 2024 (TI13) qualifiers slot distribution for each region is as follows:

  • China: 2 slots
  • Southeast Asia: 2 slots
  • Eastern Europe: 1 slot
  • Western Europe: 2 slots
  • North America: 1 slot
  • South America: 2 slots

Road to The International 2024: Qualifier dates and schedule

The Open Qualifiers for all regions will occur from June 3rd - 8th. From then on, the Closed Qualifiers featuring invited teams will take place. The Closed Qualifier dates for each region are as follows:

  • China and North America: June 9th - 13th
  • Eastern Europe and South America: June 14th - 18th
