The King of Dota 2, SumaiL is now teamless after things didn’t quite work out with Team Secret.

One of the biggest names in Dota 2, Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan is now teamless as he officially parts ways with European powerhouse, Team Secret.

During the currently ongoing ESL One Stockholm Major, teams that are not participating are prepping for the next season. Roster shuffles are bound to take place ahead of a new season and as the next International approaches, huge changes are expected. The first big roster change hits the community today, as Team Secret revealed the departure of its carry player, SumaiL.

After TI10, in November 2021, Team Secret acquired SumaiL alongside Daryl Koh "iceiceice" Pei Xiang to play for the squad in the DPC 21/22 season. The roster had its bright moments but its overall showing was lackluster.

Team Secret placed 5th in Tour 1 and 2, barely missing out on the Regional Finals and Stockholm Major. Explaining the roster change, Team Secret's captain, Clement "Puppey" Ivanov stated,

"This iteration of Team Secret has always had issues. We were trying to solve problems with role swapping or finding a better philosophy to play the game, but ultimately we couldn't achieve consistency and fell flat. When things don't work out, it's best to just move on. Change is a reliable pursuit towards progress. No hard feelings. I am sad that we couldn't achieve success together and I wish him all the best."

SumaiL and Team Secret needs to find a way to TI11

Once again, we see SumaiL in a tough situation in which he is teamless near the most important event of the year, TI11. In 2021, SumaiL found himself in OG only a couple of months before TI10. Together, they managed to qualify for the event through the TI10 WEU Qualifiers. This time around, the 23-year-old will once again become a free agent but it's hard to tell if we'll see him on another team by the last minute.

Team Secret is also in a critical situation. After the roster change, Team Secret suffers a DPC point deduction from 70 to 59.5. Currently, Team Secret is at number #29 in the DPC rankings, falling far from a slot to TI11.

Team Secret only has 59.5 DPC points, ranking the team in 29th place.

Now, the only way for Team Secret to earn the coveted slot to TI11 is by winning the TI11 WEU qualifiers, and it won't be an easy task. Time is ticking and both Team Secret and SumaiL will need to find a way before The International 2022 begins.
