Blast returns to Portugal with Blast Premier Spring Finals 2022.

Blast Premier is making its international debut with its first-ever Arena LAN event outside Denmark. Portugal will be the first destination with the Blast Premier Spring Finals 2022 being held in Altice Arena, Lisbon.

Blast Premier Spring Finals 2022 Lisbon Format:

With 8 teams in attendance, there will be 2 groups of 4 teams each. The groups will be double elimination groups with the top 3 teams making it to the Playoffs. The playoffs will be a single-elimination bracket with the first seeds from both groups getting a direct berth into the playoffs.

The format for Blast Lisbon is quite similar to the Intel Extreme Masters format we have seen develop over the past few years. despite having only 8 teams.

The tournament organizer previously ran Blast Pro Series at the same venue in 2018.

Teams:

6 out of the 8 teams have already been locked in for the event. The qualified teams from the Blast Premier 2022 Spring Groups are:

  • Team Vitality
  • OG Esports
  • Faze Clan
  • G2 Esports
  • Natus Vincere
  • BIG Clan

That list includes 3 of the top 5 teams in the world, with two more teams yet to qualify from Blast Premier Spring Showdowns. Here are the teams still in contention for those spots.

With a $425,000 prize pool and the electrifying crowd of Lisbon, the event will be a great stop on the final leg of events before we enter the player break. From the Major in Antwerp, the teams will be going to IEM Dallas, followed by Blast Premier Spring Finals Lisbon, and finishing the season in the Cathedral of Counter-Strike at IEM Cologne.
