The World Series of Warzone 2023 kicks off April 28!

The annual World Series of Warzone (WSOW) is back in 2023, with $1.2 million in prize money up for grabs. With two Stages of competition planned, the WSOW 2023 promises to be the most significant yet. Additionally, for the first time, the Global Finals will unfold in person as the biggest Warzone LAN event ever.

Here’s a comprehensive breakdown of the World Series of Warzone 2023, including the format, prize pool, schedule, and more.

World Series of Warzone 2023: How does it work?

The first major tournament in Warzone 2 is massive, with a $1.2 million prize pool, a Trios format, and several ways to qualify. WSOW 2023 is split into two Stages for Europe and North America.

Stage 1 (April and May)

Stage 1 begins online on April 28 with the In-Game Open and ends on May 18 with the Stage 1 Qualifiers. To register, you and your teammates must sign up on Gamebattles. Then, you’ll unlock the WSOW Trios Playlist, allowing you to compete in the Stage 1 In-Game Open between April 28 and April 30.

Once you’ve enlisted in the World Series of Warzone 2023 Stage 1, the next step is to play your matches. The competition takes your Trio’s ten best games across three days. Only the top 50 teams per region can advance to the WSOW Stage 1 Qualifiers, which will occur in May.

The Stage 1 Qualifiers will see the top 25 out of 50 Trios advance to the Regional Finals. They’ll be joined by 25 invited Trios, where all participants will compete for $150K in prize money. The top 25 teams per region from the Stage 1 Regional Finals secure a spot in Stage 2 Regional Finals.

Stage 2 (June and July)

The World Series of Warzone 2023 continues with Stage 2, following a similar format. However, instead of the top 50 teams advancing to the Stage 2 Qualifiers, it’s the top 25. Additionally, the bottom 25 teams from the Stage 1 Regional Finals will join the top 25 in Stage 2 for the Qualifiers.

Only the top 25 teams from the Stage 2 Qualifiers can advance to the Stage 2 Regional Finals, where they will compete against the top 25 from the Stage 1 Regional Finals.

The Stage 2 Regional Finals will see the top 15 teams in Europe and North America move on to the $600K Global Final. Meanwhile, the bottom 35 teams and 15 invited teams from the Stage 2 Regional Finals will receive one last chance to secure a spot in the Global Final.

Last Chance Qualifier (July)

The World Series of Warzone 2023 provides 50 teams per region from Stage 1 and Stage 2 one last opportunity to qualify for the Global Final. In July, the bottom 35 and 15 invited teams from the Stage 2 Regional Final in Europe and North America will compete in the Last Chance Qualifier.

While the format is unknown, only five teams from Europe and North America can qualify for the Global Final.

$600K World Series of Warzone 2023 Global Final and Solo Yolo

Stage 1, 2, and the Last Chance Qualifier culminate with the Global Final in September. This event will happen in person at a location to be announced. The competition features 20 European and 20 North American Trios, who will be joined by teams from the following regions in an undermined Qualifier:

  • Latin America North (one team)
  • Latin America South (one team)
  • Brazil (two teams)
  • Mexico (three teams)
  • Asia-Pacific (one team)
  • Australia/New Zealand (one team)
  • Middle East/Africa (one team)

Moreover, the LAN tournament will feature the fan-favorite SoloYolo competition, one match with only the game-winner taking home the prize. This will occur separately from the Trios Global Final.
