There’s a new Clan Tag in town, and everyone wants it.
If you've been playing the Season 1 update in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone, then you might have noticed some players have a Clan Tag that shows a gold, triangular icon. Before Season 1, you could only use numbers, symbols, and letters in your Clan Tag, so how are players getting to use this gold icon?
Below, you can see exactly how to get the gold icon Clan Tag and how to equip it in Black Ops 7.
Unlocking the Gold Clan Tag in Black Ops 7
For starters, the Gold Clan Tag is unlocked by purchasing the Season 1 BlackCell Battle Pass. BlackCell costs $30, and unlocks a variety of exclusive content, including 20 free tier skips, Operator skins, weapon blueprints, cosmetics, a HUD preset, and the Gold Clan Tag. Unless you purchase the BlackCell Battle Pass, you can't earn any of this content through the regular tiers of the pass.
However, players who purchased the Vault Edition of Black Ops 7 get the Season 1 BlackCell Battle Pass for free. Even if you buy the Vault Edition now in Season 1, you'll still get access to the BlackCell pass.
So, naturally, it's up to you to decide whether the extra $30 is worth all of the content you receive or not. If you were planning to purchase the Battle Pass Bundle for 2,400 COD Points anyway, then BlackCell is likely worth it, as it only costs a few dollars more. However, if you weren't going to buy the Battle Pass or you're using saved-up COD Points to purchase the premium version for 1,100 COD Points, then BlackCell might not be worth it to you.
Equipping the Gold Clan Tag in Black Ops 7
For those of you who have decided to buy the BlackCell Battle Pass in Season 1, here's how you can equip the Gold Clan Tag in Black Ops 7:
- Go to the main lobby screen in Black Ops 7 and scroll over to the "Career" tab
- Click the "Customize" box
- Click "Profile"
- Go to the "Clan Tag" box and click it
- You will see an option to equip a normal Clan Tag, or the BlackCell Clan Tag
- Click the BlackCell Clan Tag option and you'll see the Gold Clan Tag next to your name when you go back to the lobby
