It’s the first official tournament in the EU after the 2XKO release: viennality XL is a Challenger-tier event. French DBFZ legends are here!
Recently, a major patch nerfed the most popular character picks in 2XKO — Yasuo and Ekko. Later, on April 7, another League of Legends champion will join the fighting game — Akali. The tournament at viennality XL will soon reveal what’s happening in the game’s meta amidst these adjustments. It will also be the first European event of the official 2XKO Competitive Series.

The DBFZ master region in the 2XKO transition
Historically, France is considered one of the strongest regions in the tag-team sub-genre. Competitors from this country shone in Dragon Ball FighterZ. Now, they play 2XKO!
- Wawa won Evo 2022 and DBFZ World Tour 2021-2022. Even before the full 2XKO release, Wawa became the Evo France 2025 champion for this game.
- Yasha finished first at multiple big DBFZ tournaments. He was 3rd at Evo 2022 and 2nd at Evo 2023. The player formed a unique Yasha team for that game, and we certainly can expect the same level of commitment for 2XKO.
- Wade was second at DBFZ World Tour 2023-2024. With Noka as a teammate, they finished 3rd at the Frosty Faustings XVIII Duos tournament.
- Kayne has many top 3 placements at major DBFZ events. He was in the top 6 at the 2XKO Frosty Faustings XVIII event.

Following Viennality XL, we may see the creative team compositions developed by French DBFZ powerhouses in 2XKO. This is especially valuable for understanding the current meta after the major nerfs to Yasuo and Ekko.
The American competitors have their own Challenger-tier 2XKO tournament as well. It’s Texas Showdown 2026.
As for other European events, big 2XKO esports returns to the region with The MIXUP 2026 from June 13 to June 14.
