The Imperial Guard Collection Event in Apex Legends Season 16 features the new Mixtape playlist, Wraith’s Heirloom recolor, and plenty of new skins.

Starting today, Apex Legends is dropping the new Imperial Guard Collection Event. This event includes the Mixtape playlist and a Wraith Heirloom recolor.

When does the Imperial Guard Collection Event start?

The Apex Legends Imperial Guard Collection Event starts on March 7. There’s plenty of content to check out, including a free reward tracker that has two event loot boxes.

How to unlock Wraith’s Heirloom recolor: Hope’s Dawn

To unlock Wraith’s Kunai in its brand-new recolor, you’ll have to unlock all 24 cosmetics in the Imperial Guard Collection Event. Hope’s Dawn will be automatically unlocked after this. However, unlike previous Collection Event rewards, all Crafting Metal prices are 50% off.

Legendary skins, for example, would normally be 2,400. Now, they're 1,200 for this event. This means unlocking Hope’s Dawn will be half the cost of previous Heirloom Collection Events. Alongside the two Collection Event packs in the free reward tracker, unlocking this Heirloom is much cheaper and easier.

Hope’s Dawn includes an Heirloom pack, which consists of a new Mythic emote and banner. Alongside the new animations the Kunai received with Season 16, Wraith’s Heirloom has been completely revamped since its initial release in 2019. Animations include new knife flips, reassuring hands, and a case file with a note from Wattson to her favorite ghost.

It seems that Respawn will continue to release Heirloom recolors in future events.

"We are continuing our philosophy of taking learnings from the last four years to ensure the game continually feels fresh and new for players across all aspects of the game," according to Respawn.

With the statement about bringing Wraith’s Heirloom up to standard with more recent Heirlooms, it seems likely that Respawn will update older Heirlooms as well.

Hot new Mixtape drops in the Outlands

A new feature of Season 16 is also here with the Imperial Guard Collection Event — the Mixtape. Players can now jump into a permanent playlist of Apex Legends Limited-Time Modes (LTMs), which currently consist of Team Deathmatch (TDM), Gun Run, and Control. Sadly, this new Mixtape came at the cost of Arenas, which devastated some fans.

To get to the Mixtape, click on the "Game Selection" option above the "Ready" button. From there, you can select the Mixtape and jump into one of the three game modes. Additionally, all Mixtape game modes are avaliable in Custom Matches.

What cosmetics are available in this Collection Event?

Featured cosmetics in the Imperial Guard Collection Event include skins for Wraith, Wattson, Gibraltar, Loba, Revenant, and Octane. Some of these skins are recolors from previous events. However, some recolors are better than the originals — especially with Wattson's new skin.
