The Pursuing Plague is a mid-season contract in Skull and Bones Season 1. You can accept it through William Blackwood at either Sainte-Anne or Telok Penjarah. Then you'll need to do more damage to the Fleet of Pestilence by taking out some Plaguehunters.

The steps are simple, but it all depends on your skill as a pirate. And per the Season 1 schedule, Philippe La Pest and his lackeys have moved from the Coast of Africa region to the Red Isle.
If you want to complete The Pursuing Plague in Skull and Bones, follow these steps:
- Speak to William Blackwood
- Accept The Pursuing Plague
- Open your Journal and track the contract
- Set sail from any outpost in the Red Isle region
- Defeat a Plaguebringer and loot the Captain's Head to draw attention of Plaguehunters
- Sail around the Red Isle region until you are attacked by Plaguehunters
- Sink two of them to receive the Plaguehunter Helm quest item
- Return to William Blackwood
- Turn in the item to complete The Pursuing Plague in Skull and Bones
Additionally, you may attract Plaguehunters while carrying Pieces of Eight collected from manufactories on your ship. There is a chance they'll attack you instead of Rogues. If your aim is to fight, however, it is best to follow the above steps instead of risking your precious Eights.
Rewards for completing The Pursuing Plague
The Season 1 Smuggler Pass in Skull and Bones has several weekly and monthly challenges available. This provides you with points towards Smuggler's Marks, used to unlock items in the Pass. Completing The Pursuing Plague is a Wave 1, 30-day challenge.
You can also get the Captain's Head from the Plaguebringers that will help you jumpstart the contract. Two of them can be turned in to William Blackwood for another contract of his, Peste Control. Keep that in mind while sailing.
