Crimson Desert features an exorbitant number of puzzles in its world, so how do you reset them?

It’s impossible to play Crimson Desert without solving your fair share of puzzles. They play an integral role in the worldbuilding and story of the game, and you’ll have to clear dozens of puzzles before you’re able to roll credits. Of course, you can’t expect to solve all of the puzzles in Crimson Desert on your first attempt, which might lead you to try to reset a particular puzzle.

Unfortunately, there’s no dedicated “reset” button in the game, so how do you start over a puzzle from scratch?

How to reset puzzles in Crimson Desert

For starters, the main reasons why you would want to reset a certain puzzle are if you happened to lose a piece of the puzzle, such as an Abyss Cell, or if you’re following a guide and have to start the puzzle at square one. Either way, resetting a puzzle works for both of these reasons and any other reason you might have for wanting to reset.

There are a couple of different ways you can reset a puzzle in Crimson Desert. The first and easiest way is to walk away from your current puzzle. There’s no known distance that ensures a puzzle will be reset when you come back to it, but around 100-200 meters should do the trick.

The other way to reset a puzzle, which works better for Abyss puzzles, is to save your game, reload it, and then walk back to the puzzle from wherever the game places your character. Crimson Desert doesn’t always put your character back exactly where you last saved, so sometimes you’ll have to walk a few hundred meters to return to your previous spot. This is why simply walking and then returning in the first place is considered the easier method.

However, if you’re in the Abyss, you don’t always have the ability to walk too far away from a puzzle, so reloading a save works better for those situations. Reloading a save also guarantees the puzzle will be reset, whereas walking away requires a certain distance to be reached before a reset happens.

In any case, walking away or reloading a save are the two ways you can reset any puzzle in Crimson Desert. Now that you know about the two methods, maybe you want to return to some puzzles, such as the Chaos Forest Abyss Gate or the Roots of Truth Abyss puzzle.
