Roots of Truth is one of the hardest Abyss puzzles in Crimson Desert, but here's how to complete it.
The Abyss features some of the hardest puzzles in Crimson Desert, but one of the toughest challenges you’ll face is with the Roots of Trust quest. This location in the Abyss is full of winding tree branches that can make it extremely difficult to navigate. If you want to progress to the next section of the Abyss, though, you’ll have to complete the puzzle.
To see a step-by-step walkthrough of how to complete the Roots of Truth puzzle in Crimson Desert, take a look below.
Completing Roots of Truth in Crimson Desert
For this walkthrough, we’re going to assume that you’ve already made it through the entire Sky Bridge section in the Abyss prior to landing in the Roots of Truth puzzle area. However, if you’re looking at a tree and a large gap between you and the next platform, use Axiom Force on the tree, pull it down, and then use the High Jump ability to launch yourself to the Roots of Truth platform.
As a note, the second skill for Axiom Force (located in the red health section of the Skills menu) is a huge help here, as it allows you to slingshot yourself over large distances.
Below, we’ll break down every step of how we completed the entire Roots of Truth puzzle, and we’ll also have a screenshot for every step so you can see exactly what we’re doing.
- From the bottom of the starting area, ascend up the tree roots past the waterfall, head up the tree roots around the outside of the platform, and then make your way to the top. Standing in front of the Abyss Cell and the large powered fan, all you need to do is go to the left of the cell, climb on a small pillar, and jump across the gap, avoiding the fan to your right.

- Now that you’re on the other side of the gap, head down and to the left. Either use your Flight ability or Axiom Force to make the jump. Head on the outer left side of the white building, climbing over the large rock, and then jumping to the tree branch across the wall.

- From the tree branches, look at the building to see a circular, golden grate. Head to the left of that and then start to make your way up the building by climbing. It will take a lot of stamina, so make precise movements as you scale the wall. Eventually, you’ll make your way to the top of the building.

- At the top of the building, head around to the back side and look down for two golden grates. You’ll need to cling and hop down from the top to see them.

- Inside the golden grates is a room with a floating Abyss Cell. Use Axiom Force through the grates to grab ahold of the cell and then look up to see a cage with a horizontal slot in it. You need to rotate and move the cell to fit inside that slot so that it drops into the cage. This can take a few minutes, as you need to get the cell completely horizontal.

- Once the Abyss Cell is safely inside the cage, release it and then head back up to the top of the building. You can find several slots near a power cord that look down inside the cage with the Abyss Cell.

- Here comes the hard part. You need to grab hold of the Abyss Cell from the bottom of the cage and rotate it so that it fits through the middle slot on the ground. This took us several minutes, but after much rotating and moving, we eventually got it through.

- Now that the Abyss Cell is through, head over to the socket on the other side of the building, slide the cell in, and then use Force Palm to jam it into place. You’ll now see one of the two fans powered up and moving in the gap between you and the large building in front of you.

- With that Abyss Cell in place, we still need to power up the second fan. To do that, go to the left of the Abyss Cell and look toward a waterfall. Use Axiom Force or Flight to land on the rock just to the left of the waterfall.

- Head around the building to the left and climb up some roots until you see a very small slot in the building. There will be some wall designs around it. Vault into the slot to find an Abyss Cell, which you need to grab and then bring back out to the exterior of the building.

- Keep moving the Abyss Cell up to the top part of the building and then climb up the wall to reach there yourself. You can leave the Abyss Cell wherever you want, as it floats in place, so don’t worry about losing it if you need to let it go to climb up the wall.

- Once you’re at the top of the building with the cell, there is a socket on the ground, which you can use to jam the cell into place just like you did the other one. This causes a cutscene to play where you can see the large wheel powering up.

- From your current position, you need to ascend above the large wheel and then climb down so you can position yourself in the center of it. Once you’re there, use Force Palm on the center of the wheel, catch yourself in the air with the Flight ability after you’re knocked back, and then descend to the ground.

- You can now head back up above the large wheel to collect your Abyss Artifact and head to the next Sky Bridge, which leads you to another part of the Abyss and another puzzle.
