Solos are a highly requested playlist for Black Ops Royale, but are there plans for it to be released?

After months of patiently waiting, Black Ops Royale, or Blackout 2.0, has finally arrived in Call of Duty: Warzone. This is a massive day for the community, as Blackout is one of the most beloved game modes in the history of the franchise and has never returned since its 2018 release in Black Ops 4. While Black Ops Royale is a mostly faithful recreation of Blackout, a Solos playlist is noticeably missing from the mode.

At the launch of the mode, you can only play Quads, which is great for players with three other friends, but not so great for lone wolves. So, is Activision planning to add a Solos playlist in Black Ops Royale, and if so, when? We’ll tell you everything we know about Black Ops Royale Solos in the guide below.

Is Black Ops Royale getting a Solos playlist?

Unfortunately, there is no current planned release date for a Solos playlist in the new Blackout mode. Raven Software, the main developers of Black Ops Royale, have stated that only Quads will be available at the start of the mode’s life cycle. The main reasoning behind this decision was that Quads is apparently the most popular playlist across all of Warzone.

Raven Software also said that it wants to focus on “understanding how players feel about the core experience” before making any large-scale changes to the playlist options. But there’s some hope for Solo fans, as the studio also stated: “We’ve heard the feedback [about Solos] and will continue the dialogue.”

Naturally, this isn’t exactly what solo players wanted to hear, as this means a Solos playlist likely isn’t a current priority for Black Ops Royale’s development. Duos and Trios likely aren’t priorities either, so we’re presumably going to only have the Quads playlist for the foreseeable future.

Hopefully, once Raven Software irons out some of the core community complaints about the gameplay in Black Ops Royale, it will add more playlist options quickly. As of right now, though, we don’t know when that will be, but with how common this feedback is amongst the player base, we can presumably expect a Solos mode within a month or so.
