Best Cronen Squall loadout in MW2

The Cronen Squall is a powerful battle rifle in MW2, and its best loadout turns it into a versatile tool in anyone’s hands.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 received two new weapons with Season 3. One of those is the Cronen Squall battle rifle. The battle rifle category has been noticeably underused, but this new addition quickly rose to prominence. That is all thanks to the best Cronen Squall loadout you can put together in MW2.

The Cronen Squall packs quite the punch without any help. It has a large magazine and fully automatic capabilities. With the right attachments, you can bolster the Squall's strengths and make it a dangerous gun at any range.

The Cronen Squall is unlockable through the MW2 Season 3 Battle Pass. You'll need to focus on the Battle Pass if you want to add it to your arsenal and use arguably the best battle rifle that game has seen. Be thankful that it is a free reward.

As a part of Sector C11, you'll notice that surrounding sectors need cleared to unlock it. You can either purchase the Battle Pass to gain access immediately or complete adjacent Sector C7, C9, C13, or C15 with your Battle Pass Tokens.

The best loadout for the Cronen Squall in MW2 has the following attachments:

  • Optic: Cronen Mini Dot
  • Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40
  • Barrel: HR6.8 Barrel
  • Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56

The Cronen Mini Dot is the go-to optic for many guns in MW2. It gives the battle rifle good vision at all ranges. That's the basis of this loadout. Range, accuracy, recoil control, and damage are all buffed. Whether in semi-auto mode from a distance or spraying in full-auto around corners, this BR does the trick.

The downsides of this Cronen Squall loadout are reduced mobility and handling, however. You won't be running and gunning with it, nor should you even try. It works well across all modes, but is a weapon where you need to set up and hold angles to ensure the first shot lands and you get your kill.
