After defeating Lost in Lihue in the first round, the Golden Guardians swept No Answer 3-0. This advanced them to the semifinals against Liquid, where they swept the opposing team. However, Liquid didn't give up as they climbed their way out of the elimination bracket for a rematch in the finals.

During the final match, the Golden Guardians took the first victory and followed that up two more points via Hook Point and Empyrean Domain. When it came down to match point in Ashamane's Fall, the Golden Guardians continued to show no mercy. With a score of 4-0, the Golden Guardians became the Season 2 WoW AWC Cup 1 winners!

"I'm feeling good. I think this is our first Cup win since the end of BFA," Carlos "Absterge" Correa from the Golden Guardians said in the post-match interview about the tournament and the Battle for Azeroth (BFA) expansion. "We've had a few final appearances and stuff, but I think the last time we won was the end of BFA." Absterge also mentioned the team environment and how it helps that his teammates enjoy being around each other.

Echo in the Arena World Championship

Meanwhile, for the European side of the Season 2 WoW AWC Cup 1, Echo won the tournament. They bested MyWay in the first round before going 3-0 against The Agents. This was followed by a 3-1 score against Admirals Esports.

In the finals, Echo faced The Agents again and earned the first point in Nagrand Arena. They continued this win streak in Empyrean Domain and Maldraxxus Coliseum. However, The Agents didn't go down without a fight as they took Hook Point and Ashamane's Fall. When it came down to Tiger's Peak, Echo took down the enemy Rogue, earned a score total of 4-2, and became the Dragonflight Season 2 WoW AWC Cup 1 winners!
