Echo players won WoW AWC Cup 3 after coming out on top in Cups 1 and 2. Meanwhile, Team Liquid claimed victory as the underdogs!
After another weekend of World of Warcraft Arena World Championship (WoW AWC) Cup action, Echo players came out on top! They earned their third weekly win in the Dragonflight Season 2 esports event. Team Liquid also reached the top in WoW AWC Cup 3!
Echo players win WoW AWC Cup 3
After securing victories in WoW AWC Cups 1 and 2, Echo players took home the gold once again. The success of WoW AWC Cup 3 meant 360 points in total.
"It's kinda crazy to win three in a row," Mehhx from Echo said in the post-match interview. "It's hard to explain how good it feels." He also gave a shoutout to all of his teammates.
"I wanna say I've never been more happy playing WoW as I am right now," Mehhx said. "Playing with these guys — I feel so privileged 'cause I literally feel like I'm playing with the three best players in the game. And we're all on the same team. We all complement each other so well, and I'm loving every moment of it."
Echo won against NiceBeam in the first round and went 3-0 against The Agents in the quarterfinal. The players then continued their win streak in the upper bracket, earning a score of 3-0 against Admirals Esports in the semifinal. When it came down to the final match, the team gave no quarter as they went 4-1 against Admirals Esports for the WoW AWC Cup 3 gold!

As for the North American side of WoW AWC Cup 3, Team Liquid climbed their way to the very top. Despite a defeat against Shuffle Police in the first round and getting booted to the elimination bracket, Team Liquid didn't give up. They bested Unitas 3-0, the Golden Guardians 3-1, and Luminosity Gaming 3-0 before reaching the final.
When Team Liquid faced Super One Shot Frogs, whose players had win streaks all weekend in the upper bracket, Team Liquid players went 4-2! This secured them the most weekly points and put them in first place on the WoW AWC leaderboard.
"We've been practicing even more than we normally have, and definitely just been putting more effort into playing the correct way," Trill from Team Liquid said, referring to his team's playstyle. "Something just clicked after we lost to Shuffle Police in the upper bracket. We just turned something on and we just haven't stopped since."
The WoW esports action will return next weekend from July 7 to July 9 with Dragonflight Season 2 WoW AWC Cup 4.
