After a weekend of duking it out against other top teams, Echo players took home the gold medal for their region. Not only did they win 4-1, but they also earned the bulk of the prize pool to further showcase their status as one of EU's top WoW AWC teams.

Echo players first swept Overload 3-0 in the quarterfinal before duking it out against Chibaku Tensei in the semifinal and going 2-3. However, Echo didn't give up, climbing their way back to the top after another sweep against Overload in the elimination bracket.

When it came down to the final, Echo fought Chibaku Tensei once again. Although Chibaku Tensei opened strong with a win in Nagrand Arena, Echo bounced back in Ashamane’s Fall and took control from there. The players secured back-to-back wins in Hook Point and Maldraxxus Coliseum.

The final game happened in Dalaran Sewers. Echo's Rogue, Mage, Priest (RMP) composition duked it out against Chibaku Tensei's Druid, Monk, and Shaman. Chibaku Tensei did their best with crowd control, but in the end, Echo overwhelmed them with aggressive moves. In a perfectly-timed play, Echo stunned the Chibaku Tensei's Monk just one second before any defensive cooldowns were ready and dealt unhealable damage to close out the match.

Merce and Mehhx on Echo's victory

In the post-match interview, Eiya spoke with Merce and Mehhx from Echo. The players revealed how the team practiced with multiple compositions, including the RMP one. They also specifically prepared for mirror matchups and said that Chibaku Tensei was one of the hardest teams to beat.

"We were very prepared — besides for Chibaku Tensei. We were very prepared [to face] mirrors. I think they had a really strong comp, and even though we lost to them yesterday, we knew we can come back," Merce said. "Today was much better because we sat there, we analyzed what we viewed, and today was a blast."

"We thought that they were going to win the tournament without dropping a game," Mehhx added.

When the players were asked about their NA predictions, they said that they had faith in Welcome to the Jung.

Speaking of Welcome to the Jung, they also took home the gold. After going 3-1 against Left For Dead, who had earned their spot through the WoW AWC Gauntlet event, Welcome to the Jung faced Liquid and won 3-2. This sent Liquid into the elimination bracket, but they quickly climbed back for a revenge match in the final.

In this final, Welcome to the Jung earned the first point in Nagrand Arena. However, Liquid tied things up in Empyrean Domain and followed it with another win in Maldraxxus Coliseum. Next was Tol'viron Arena, where Welcome to the Jung evened the score. They took Mugambala as well by punishing Liquid for being a bit too aggressive.

Welcome to the Jung's journey to the top

It then all came down to Hook Point. Both teams traded cooldowns and survived setups. Liquid's Mage, Samiyam, was critically low and forced to Ice Block while their Paladin, Cdew, tried to hold on with Lay on Hands as the pressure continued to mount.

However, the Welcome to the Jung players were relentless. They caught Cdew in a stun at the worst possible moment. It was right after he used his major healing. After Drake, Welcome to the Jung's Druid, caught the Paladin off guard with a diminishing return (DR) stun, the team closed out the match and won the tournament.

That's all for now. Congratulations to the winning teams! Stick around on esports.gg for more WoW esports news and updates.
