The VALORANT patch notes 12.06 bring a slight nerf to Waylay, along with fixes to Viper’s Pit map geometry and Tejo’s guided salvos.
Riot Games has listened to your prayers, as they have finally announced a small nerf coming to Waylay. The duelist has been one of the most dominant picks in the current meta, especially in the competitive scenario. We will also have some cosmetic, performance, and battlepass updates for you on the VALORANT patch notes 12.06. Let’s dive straight into it.
Waylay nerfs
Before the nerf, Waylay could instantly deploy her Saturate ability, slowing enemies and setting up easy kills for herself or her team. In the VALORANT patch notes 12.06, this ability will change from Instant to Equip.
According to Riot Games, while they are happy with the agent’s performance overall, they have been noticing the lack of counterplay in certain situations, especially with the Saturate. Waylay would enter the site with her dashes, throw the Saturate to the enemy, go back to her initial position, and give a free kill to her team without many risks.
“We think Duelists play best when they are using their kit with some risk, and when that risk falls primarily on the Duelist themselves,” Riot explained. “By changing Waylay’s Saturate from Instant to Equip, she can no longer hinder enemies instantly while airborne or reactively on contact without greater risk to herself.”
Agents updates
Viper and Yoru will also benefit from some updates in the VALORANT patch notes 12.06. Viper’s Pit will slightly change to be more consistent in the way it spreads around the map geometry. You might not notice a big change, but this will give her a more consistent behavior and remove any possibility of failure to cast, especially in certain map areas such as Haven A Tower or Icebox A Pipes.
On the other side, Riot Games has added new voice lines to Yoru.
Cosmetic, performance, and progression updates
Since the introduction of the Flex over a year ago, Riot Games has been gathering feedback. Overall, players like this new cosmetic, but sometimes they feel it’s not optimal since it uses Ability movespeed rather than Melee movespeed (Ability movespeed is 90% of Melee movespeed).
Some players have expressed that they are afraid of accidentally misclicking and using the Flex in a critical moment during the matches. After testing, Riot has decided to increase the Flex movespeed to match Melee movespeed in the VALORANT patch notes 12.06. This update will apply to all past and future Flex.

Riot Games is enabling Push-model Replication as an optimization for the game servers and “unlock future performance gains.” This update is not supposed to change with your game client, but you should provide feedback in case something feels weird or out of place.
To ease your navigation through Battlepass, Riot added paginated arrow buttons. This way, you can scroll forward and backward on reward tiers and the tracker. You will still be able to tier that you are in below the rewards.

Premier
For Premier, Riot Games brought some bug fixes to ongoing problems in the VALORANT patch notes 12.06:
- Fixed an issue where the View Team modal would sometimes incorrectly display the zone icon as a blank white box
- The bug where the tournament queue timer wasn’t properly showing the time to queue up was also solved
- Fixed a bug where “Make Captain” and “Transfer Ownership” options were not disabled during a tournament
VALORANT patch notes 12.06: Bug fixes
Recently, Tejo was disabled temporarily due to an exploit that would allow him to send three guided salvos instead of two. He came back some hours later with the bug fixed. Don’t worry, the broken Tejo is not back!
The majority of the bug fixes came to Miks since he is the most recent agent released in VALORANT.
- Fixed a bug where some of Miks’ Harmonize 1P VFX were disappearing early
- Fixed a bug where Miks’ Harmonize targeting UI could overlap with an ally’s loadout
- Fixed a bug where Miks’ Waveform ability placement UI would persist briefly in 3P after he placed a smoke
- Fixed a bug where Miks’ M-pulse could be stuck in certain spots on the map and could not be destroyed
You can check out all the remaining bug fixes in the official VALORANT patch notes 12.06 page.
